As the last weekly blog update covered upto week 44 and then everything went a bit awry, I’m hoping now to get back into doing (hopefully) weekly blog posts again but in a less detailed way than the older posts.
My thinking is that it’s then simpler to get an idea of what’s been going on but without you dear reader needing to take a long break out of your day to do it and for me the couple of hours it was generally taking to end up with my convoluted posts :)
So without any further messing around, lets find out what happened during the week just past…

Hello again, it’s been a while since the last blog post and even longer since the last regular blog post updates. I apologise now for this but I’ve been busier coding which isn’t a valid excuse and I know I need to get back into the habit of doing the weekly(ish) blog updates.
So if you’ve not been following me elsewhere & / or via the changelogs then you may not think much has been going on but you are wrong as there’s been 12 beta builds provided since the start of 2017 (not counting some of the interim builds before the main builds were released to all of the beta testers). I won’t recap all of those changelogs here but suffice to say a lot of work has been going on (not as much as I’d like at times) but things are progressing (unlike any official progress from what was recently indicated).

The reason for asking this comes from ../community/index.php/topic,51.0.html due to some thoughts that have come up from looking into getting a replacement for Gracenote support for audio CD ripping.
Obviously removing the support for a feature that has existed since 2003 isn’t good (though you had to ‘go pro’ to make it properly work) but with better standalone burning software out there, is keeping this beneficial?

With everything that has gone on over the last 4 weeks (which I suspect most following things already know about or it can worked out from the title of this update) I can only apologise that the blog didn’t get updated at the same time (it’s all been a bit hectic between WACUP work and un-related personal matters).
With this update I’m not going to cover everything as I’m not sure that’d be too interesting or even if I could do that from the notes I’ve made about things as I’ve gone on. If you just want a quick summary of things over these last few weeks then it’s best to have a look at the beta changelogs for the builds that have been provided so far to the beta testers (and due to some of the issues covered later in this post a build wasn’t released during this week).
