Lack of Enqueue context menu support
« on: June 08, 2026, 12:56:24 AM »
When I found WACUP I thought my prayers were answered.  But shortly after install I found that there was no "Enqueue in WACUP" right click context menu.  I figured that I didn't enable something so I started checking.  After too much research I found that it's purposely missing and that there is no timeline for its return or even if it will return.  I have an extensive CD collection, all ripped to flac.  Often, as I'm listening, I will just browse the files and when I see something that tickles me I add it to the cue.  Now that's not possible.
I realize that there is a workaround but it is not for me.
I really applaud the effort to make a modern Winamp, especially when sooo much of the market has moved to streaming on phones.  And maybe someday I'll try again but right now it's not for me.

It can't return if it wasn't part of the code that I'm writing as wacup isn't winamp so it doesn't have prior code to re-enable along with it being noted with the x86 build that it's not something that's offered (should probably add it to the x64 installer too).

Those workarounds are what any direct support would be doing anyway & its not like using Explorer's "open with..." option & altering the default command-line handling action can't achieve what's typically wanted.

I'm also fine if wacup doesn't meet everyone's needs as that's just not something I'm chasing & just wish I'd realised that much sooner on in what's now passed being a decade long process to make something that is realistically more for me than the majority.

Just want to say two things:

1) I would also love to see Enqueue support in the context menu if at all possible, someday. It's a winamp feature I heavily use.

2) WACUP is absolutely f*king incredible and I thank you so much for making this for us!! You rule dro!!!

One thing you can do is if the music is already in WACUP's media library, you can right-click on it and choose Enqueue Selection to add it to the end of the current playlist. Not the same thing as doing it from Explorer but since all my music is already in WACUP's media library it's pretty much the same thing.

To get music into the library, I usually drag & drop a selection of files from Windows Explorer into the media library window.
