play count not working?
« on: March 07, 2025, 09:04:44 AM »
I havent tried many solutions, but the playcount part of the library just broke out of nowhere for me. I tried clearing the local library database, but that didnt really work at all in making it work again. is there some sort of option i might have ticked accidentally that stops play count registering to the history? or should i just reinstall?

(Ps: Clicking on history also shows a message that says "Unable to load the history database [possibly corrupted]" which was shown both before and after me clearing the local database, is that the reason?)

It means you current & backup copies of the history database are most likely completely broken. Things like that shouldn't happen but without knowing what build you're using it could be either a known issue from an older build (e.g. the ones from early 2024 would often randomly corrupt the db files due to an internal multi-threading related issue) or it's just not allowing things to correctly close for the save to occur which is then breaking things. Other than going into the WACUP settings folder & trying to replace the history.dat/.idx files with the .backup versions of those files (which the last & now current preview build will try to do anyway) there's not much else to do than wipe those files & consider using the backup feature or just periodically making a complete copy of the settings folder incase of problems again.
