Can't Save Changed Metatags
« on: August 11, 2025, 04:59:45 PM »
Hello everybody

I'm running WACUP 1.99.36.22278 (x64) under Windows 10 Pro.

When I edit metatags in the "File Info" window and hit "Save", I get the error message "Error Saving Metadata Changes" (screenshot below). It is a common MP3 file with the format MPEG Layer III. The file is neither write protected nor hidden.

When I edit metatags from within the Media Library, right-click selected songs and "Edit Metadata for selection...", then it pretends saving, since there is no error message, but the metatags remain unchanged.

As I read here, both ways should work as intended.

Any I idea what I could change? For any feedback many thanks in advance.

Friendly greetings
Ravelli

The 64-bit build of WACUP currently doesn't have the means to edit MP3 files. The 32-bit build with the re-used in_mp3 plug-in from 5.666 is needed to do that as of this reply. I don't have an eta on when I'll eventually get around to making the 64-bit build have similar support along with a bunch of other things needed for metadata editing. The noted post was made before the 64-bit build existed as a public build.
