Hi Dro,

you're right - everythink comes with proper and acurate tag data. I was just surprised about various album entries on the same artist. If you consider a CD sampler with 40 songs and artists you'll get 40 albums. That's a bit weard.

Anyhow, now it's clear. I could even identify wrong information in my library and corrected it.

Thank you.
Cheers

Thank you.
Option found. Never knew this option before, thanks.

Hi Dro,

sorry but herewith your find some data.

Album view in library view. Column "Artist" shows correct name.
Mysterious to me is the separation in two album. Root cause is the information in "Album Artist". If I correct this manually the two albums become one.

A comparision of the file metadata show the differences and the impact on the doubling of the album.

Build #24496 (May 8th 2026)

There seems to be a library issue. Artist and Album Artist are mixed up.

Exanple:
I have a ripped CD from George Benson. The songs are stored in one folder and should appear as one collection from song 1 to 10.
But it appear in 2 CDs with same album name "20/20".

The issue was the one CD carried "George Benson", the other "Benson, George" but not in Artist name but in Album Artist. But the column in the library is just "Artist".

After manual correction of "Album Artist" the CDs appeare as one.

I have several issues found in my database which do not appear under original Winamp release as the column "Artist" reads right field from metadata correctly.

I hope to have described the issue properly enough for your debugging.

Works here as expected.

I can not reproduce this misbehavior.
All good.

Thx !
I still have a iPods and GoGears in my family so that was a nice way to upload the music files wo. the proprietary outdated software.

Found both plugins in the WACUP installation folder but how do I activate them?

Hey Dro, hey all the others who I don't know ;)

I'm missing a simple device control like in Winamp.
If I connect a USB stick or a MP3 player which identifies like a storage device I can manage file transfers in old Winamp but not in WACUP.

It's very helpfull to fill my MP3 device by Winamp so I was a kind of disappointed by WACUP.
Is there any work around to establish connection to a device?
Or a feature proposal/wish list?

I'm not takling about any limitations.

I just mentioned that m3u8 is most likely linked to a video application like VCL. More than 500 Million PCs use that video app. And yes, it can play audio files as well.

Keep in mind that *.m3u8 is reserved to VLC video player - the most distributed video player - on many PCs.
Better use the traditional extensions m3u & pls for audio playlists.

I never use Winamp for videos.

Hi Galleleo,

I didn't notice a change of the mouse cursor in size or design in both versions of WACUP.
I use the classic skin for the testing, too.

Hi Darren,

it works !  :D

The "Not So Neo" output plug-in was the right setup and I can now play with the DSP setup parameters. Thanks !
The stereo upmix is a very nice option !

Hi Darren,

it doesn't matter if I change the view or re-open the app.

I shring genres 2 to 6 to zero width and it comes back in a different view.
For my purpose it's ok as I can see the bitrate and format and I definitely don't need 6 genres.

If it's not your code please stay relaxed. In the end it's just my opinion and view.

The columns of the internet radio view are intentionally hard-coded so that's not a bug imho. You can always re-size the columns not wanting to be seen to be zero width.

The emphasis is on "always re-size the columns". I don't know if you have tested that.
A resize is possible but it's back (full expand) on every application restart.
Is this on purpose, too ?
