HDD not spinning down AFAICT
Files are flac or wav

I've never had this issue with previous WACUP versions, only the current

The file I was mainly struggling with:
Length: 5373.7 seconds
2 Channel(s) @ 44100 Hz
Samples: 236978035
Format: Signed 16 bit PCM WAV

Not sure how to diagnose this but:

I haven't used WACUP in a while, but today when I started using the latest preview build, I'm getting random freezes every couple of minutes when playing my DJ mixes. The playback just hangs and then starts playing again a couple of seconds later.

I'm not having issues with playing the files with foobar.

It's off a HDD but there are no errors when checking the HDD health with various HDD checking software.

If I can do anything to help diagnose the cause please let me know.

Someone else reported this recently but I've not yet been able to replicate it. You could try going to preferences -> plug-ins -> output -> directsound -> fading tab -> disable the "on seek" fading item & see if that makes a difference or not. There's other changes I've been working on with the directsound output plug-in to try to resolve some crashes & locking up issues which possibly might be related to this.

Thanks, I've done that now and will test tonight and report back if the issue is resolved, as I was able to make this issue occur every few minutes of skipping through tracks. I'm a DJ preparing for sets so I spend a lot of time skipping with the waveseeker.

Edit: after around 8 hours skipping through tracks, it appears that your suggestion of the setting to modify (disable the "on seek" fading item) has solved the bug

I've only just started using the 11 May build and I noticed several times the past hour when clicking in the waveform seeker, sometimes the track would drop in volume drastically (sounds like 5-10% of full volume). I had volume set to around 50-80% in the program. Clicking on the volume slider fixes the issue whenever it happens. Clicking elsewhere in the waveform seeker again also fixes it, as does the track changing.

I've confirmed this isn't my hardware, as it happens with both my speaker and headphones outputs (and it's a giveaway that it resolves by clicking on the volume bar, or the waveform seeker).

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Crashing issues

Thanks for this info, I've been having many crashes since updating the other day, so I'm trying with this option turned off - hopefully that will be the fix for me too.

In the new version of WACUP (which has elements like being more stable, faster to load my huge playlist and other great aspects about it) - I have one complaint.

In the previously available version, you could click on any track in the playlist and the waveform seeker would show the selected track - not just the one that is being played currently.

Please enable an option/toggle check box so that the behaviour can be decided by the user - whether one wants to only show the currently played track, or if want to show the currently SELECTED playlist track.

Because I used to click between two versions of the same track (different revisions or mastering etc) to quickly look at the differences in the waveform between them. Now, I have to click play back and forth between two or more tracks to be able to look at the differences in the waveform, or otherwise have to take screenshots and line them up in paint to compare the differences, a bit more time consuming.
