I had a similar issue with a Denon HDMI receiver and fixed it by using an HDMI dummy monitor dongle on a secondary port of my HTPC, set as a duplicated display at the correct resolution.


There are plenty of these on AliExpress; here’s one example.

Ended up locking studio.xnf as a workaround.
At least a restart brings back your original windows layout.

Thanks for the feedback 


I have since moved to Home Assistant (Open source - Free) and built a similar interface with the ability to control via my wall tablets or cell phone.


I am still using Ajaxamp/Ampwifi along with WACUP + some automations to publish WACUP data over MQTT.


It has been running smoothly for a few months now.


Not the simplest integration but the only solution I found so far.

I agree, it is a great control extension to WACUP.
Been using it for a while.
You can also use it remotely via WAN if you have a VPN.
Just need to create a corresponding profile.
The app developer @mveroukis is still active and keeps the app updated.
The only things I would like to see added are :
   - ability to queue files (JTFE)/ manage queue
   - sort files by date.

Thanks for the feedback.
For now I have put studio.xnf as read only; it seems to lock size and position; it won't lock window enabled/disabled but not a major issue as it is quite simple to toggle if needed. Should be a good fix for now, thanks again.

here's what the 1st issue mentioned above looks like
queue is usually bottom left and all 3 unwanted windows appear on top of each other, I just moved them slightly.
This is still happening after resetting studio.xnl

just PM'd you a copy of both files.


The other display issues I have:


1- if I restart WACUP a few times, the queue manager windows is eventually disabled (windows not showing anymore and checkmark in preferences is gone) and all of a sudden Lyrics, Waveform seeker and Big clock windows are all enabled without me changing their state (originally disabled). No clue why this happens.


2- If I change screen resolution, windows positions/sizes can get all scrambled and I have to redo everything once back to my usual resolution. Is there a way to completely "lock" all windows states/position/sizes so it can't be changed automatically no matter what happens (unless user does changes it via preferences)?

Using latest release and can't get rid of a "ghost bar" which just appeared under the main window.
see gray bar below between player and playlist
other windows will dock around it like if it was part of the window.

I've tried just about everything to get rid of it, restarting, changing skins and options, opening/closing drawers, etc.
It won't go away....


Using modern-Christmas does work so it's directly related to the standard Winamp modern skin parameters.


Any advice on how to get rid of it or troubleshoot?

glad to see the command line feature back, and my ability to beta test
looking forward to testing the latest versions & changes.

should upgrade in the coming weeks.

Hopefully the freeze feature should solve my Video window resize issue.
Any plans to add this feature to modern skins? Worst case I'll use classic skins.

Is a new API still on your list of features to implement?

The option added a couple of beta builds back to freeze classic skins windows positions goes a long way toward satisfying the reason for this request. Thank you for adding it.

I don't use WACUP to play video files, but I assume the related improvements in this area are also appreciated.

At which version was this option to freeze classic skins windows positions added?


just curious as I'm still on 7236
(Loading files via the command-line was removed starting from this version;
waiting for it to be reimplemented in the new WACUP core... unless it's been done, haven't checked recently... guess I should  [size=78%])[/size]

+1, following.
Been having issues with the video window suddenly resizing even though "resize video window to fit video" is disabled.
This would be a potential workaround until I find the root cause or the issue is fixed.
