I like what your doing so far I was wondering if it were possible to add Monkey Audio .ape Support to wacup.
-
I'd need to look into what the state of the existing Monkey's Audio input plug-in is & what the licensing requirements of the plug-in are to determine what would be needed to consider adding it. So if that's all ok then I'm not against looking to include it as part of the WACUP install.

in the mean time ... you can use any number of good quality freeware (foobar2000, audacity, dBconverter, etc.) to easily convert to flac (hands-down the most common lossless format).

Download to official Monkeys Audio installer (either x64 or x32)
https://www.monkeysaudio.com Current build v4.44 - Jan 2019
When you have installed it, look in the program folder and you will see the file "Winamp Plugin.exe"
Right-click and run as admin to install the plugin.

Great minds & all that... I've had a chance to have a look at the developer terms as well as the source code that is provided & the base plug-in is ok. It will need some wacupifcation (unified alt+3 & transcoding support are the main things) but it otherwise looks like the license terms are permissive enough to do what's wanted without issue (just acknowledging original author & all that as I do for any plug-ins that are forked / updated after the original author).
Not sure when I'll get around to doing it but like Dr.Flay notes above, you can at least use the existing plug-in - its just a bit sad to see it using the old 'pimp' installer system (the pre-cursor to NSIS) which is why you have to run it as an administrator without the OS typically pre-elevating it for you as is the case with NSIS instead.
