Why should I consider using what appears to have been abandoned around a decade ago which is also licensed in a manner that I'm not too happy with ? As there's also https://www.surina.net/soundtouch/index.html which I recently was made aware of & is slightly more permissive in it's licensing & is a known quantity from the pacemaker Winamp dsp plug-in that it's derived from.
