The metadata / file handling with in_what isn't yet full done which is preventing it being able to detect & report back the 'type'. That causes it to treat things as unknown which the library will assume is audio & will require a rescan once that's eventually implemented.

General Discussion / Video File Classifications / Supported File Types
« Last post by ww on Yesterday at 10:48:26 AM »
Hello dro,

thanks for your recent updates, esp. the video support in-what, so I have restarted using WACUP for video play.

Video playback works ok with all my filetypes which are MKV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, AVI, TS.

Scanning the storage location and adding the files to the local library works as well. Unfortunately only the MP4 files are sorted to the Video View, all others show up under Audio View. Checking under the Local Library - Supported File Types tab, only MP4 and M4V files are shown as Video types, all other typical video file types are listed as Audio. Is this the reason why they are also shown in the Audio View i.o. Video, and if yes can this be corrected?

I use the last dev build 24270.

Thanks WW

Preview Build Discussion / [BUG] NSF/NSFe playlist incorrect for some files
« Last post by nelsonhf on April 12, 2026, 02:02:49 PM »
Hi, i'm using WACUP v1.99.47.23960 with the included NSF/NSFe Player (in_notyansf.dll) v0.9.7 and in some files the playlist gets an incorrect (larger) number of tracks than the actual file has (compared with another player like NSFPlay or plug-in). As an example this is the same file opened with WACUP and NSFPlay:

Skins / New Modern Skin : CELL.
« Last post by parisienne17 on April 10, 2026, 01:39:38 AM »
Here it is, (too) long time after I got the idea to make a modern winamp skin.

I just had no clue about the process, zero knowledge and without Ariszlô's kindness and patience, this skin simply couldn't have been born.

It has 3 modes, in player visualization/covert art, enhanced playlist/media library, fancy equalizer.
I tried to give it minimalism but ergonomy.

Last, this is a free port of Sonitec's skin Cell from the old sonique's time. He owns (c), I just tried my best with what I still have : as I'm near blind now due to a !§%#~@ glaucoma, maybe some bits slipped here and there. Just let me know, I'll try to make it as right as it deserves.

I still have to test a script opening the equalizer at a fixed distance from the players.

This is my contribution to this community.
Have fun !

I think you might have forgotten to attach or have a link to the visualization itself.

This visualization was created by Raphael Gosset. Got it rare Winamp visualization on customize.org!

Copy the "vis_GIJoe3D.dll" file to the Plugins folder of the WACUP.

Skins / Re: Big Bento Modern v1.2
« Last post by dro on April 09, 2026, 05:45:15 PM »
What you've posted is already the log of the error & is the same script file as others who've reported the issue have had the skin engine complain about. I've tried setting things to what I think you've described & I still cannot get that script error to appear be it in a new or existing installs.

Until I can see it happen & for it to consistently fail there's little I can do right now as I don't have anything else to try against what was already done before the recent build went up which tried to resolve the failures I could force in the mentioned script file. This is why modern skins are just awful to try to support.

It's the same issue as the post above & there's also a whole dedicated thread about it but there wasn't the specific information which I'm hoping when I look into trying it will be what causes it to occur on my side as I've not been able to replicate it to get it fixed.

Happy to provide an error log if you can advise where one might be located 🩷
