Trying out 24566 and it appears the be resolved.  The meta data is still shown in explorer after starting a song.

Thanks for the update.

Disabling in_mp3 did not change the behavior.

In my case I am using the x86 version and in_mp3.dll is active.  Currently using the latest 1.99.51.24560 version.  When I start playing the file and refresh the Explorer view showing the file all the meta data columns go poof.

Attaching a screenshot.

In this case, it is a MP3 file.

Actually, all the meta data columns blank out: Title, Artist, Album, etc in Windows Explorer.

I suspect it's due to the file being "locked/in use", which keeps the meta data reading function of Explorer from working.  The same thing happens with the Mp3tag program where it shows empty fields in all the columns for a currently playing file.

Now, whether or not it should be doing this, I don't know.

Well, for my use the 32bit version works fine (only the 32bit version supports modern skins).  When I upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10 back in 2019, I never reinstalled Winamp and just installed WACUP on it.  There are features I use in WACUP that are built into it that Winamp required particular plugins that are no longer around (the HTTP Post stuff).

Anyway, the best advice I have is probably to just try it.  The 32bit version is the one I would try first and make sure if you do install it, to place it into its own program directory like "C:\Program Files (x86)\WACUP" and NOT on top of your Winamp installation so that it remains untouched.   That way you can play with it and not muck up Winamp.

I think you might have forgotten to attach or have a link to the visualization itself.

Skins / Re: HELP [sorry I'm new]
« on: December 10, 2025, 05:49:33 AM »
Well, the quick reason is that the bulk of Classic Skins only affected the Main, Equalizer, and Playlist Windows with anything else defaulting to the standard classic skin look.  Most of the ones I have behave this way.

One classic skin I have does seem to skin more of the windows like the Album Art and Media Library.  It's called Nucleo_NLog_v102_.wsz which can be downloaded from the Winamp Skin Museum: https://skins.webamp.org/skin/4fcfeabdf0fb65f1f999ce9d236c9723/Nucleo_NLog_v102_.wsz/  It's possible there are others.

How you modify a classic skin to also change the other windows, that I am not sure of.  Perhaps someone else more versed in that might chime in.

See if this works (it should from what I understand):
Go into Wacup Preferences -> Media Library -> Local Library -> Options tab and make sure Automatically add played item to the database is not checked.

Hopefully that helps.

It looks to me like the Yule Log plugin is not activated.  Check in the Plug-ins -> General Purpose section and see if Yule Log is activated or not (or if it is even present).  It's the one that does the Play Tracking and Discord functions.  Both of which are missing in your Playback section.

Yeah.. I noticed that as well when I went to add my count to the recycle bin thread.

Guess time will tell if it's an oversight and someone forgot to renew it (or missed the notice to renew it) or decided not to on purpose.  Don't see a link to the forums on their main website so who knows (don't really know if there used to be one though).  Oh well.. we shall see.

Heh.. didn't know Imgur was Geoblocking the UK.  That kinda sucks.  Anyway, I decided to take a screenshot of all the images and attach it.

When paused I see a paused symbol (two vertical lines), instead of the play symbol, along with a timer that keeps counting how long it has been paused. Makes sense to me.

Not sure if the paused timer makes it appear like it's still playing if you don't notice the pause symbol.

My guess is the OP just wants it to show nothing when paused.  Was just posting that the paused state seems to be working ok.

Due to the font size I thought you were typing the same characters, but it's

"ł" vs "l"

The Polish one has that diagonal cross thing.
