Latest WACUP public preview for x86 & x64 is build #21136 (March 9th 2025) (x86 & x64 changelogs)
Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #21136 (March 9th 2025) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Hi joebloggscity,

In what folder was the links.xml file and what was it related to? A skin perhaps. I don't have this file in my beta x86 configuration or I can't find it, if I do. I do use the cPro - Insomnis skin from time to time.

Your post is in the Preview Build Discussion section, but you state you installed the new beta build. Are you using the public preview build or the beta build?

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Options for the Lyrics Plug-in
« on: Yesterday at 08:11:32 AM »
Hi dro,

As you know your lyrics plug-in (gen_lyrics.dll) creates text files for every song file that is played. These text files contain the song lyrics if lyrics are found online and are zero length files if no lyrics are found. Can you add to this plug-in's configuration options, an option to not create a text file if no lyrics are found? Can you also add an option to not create text files, even if lyrics are found?

Also, these files are given alpha-numeric names that have no clear relationship to the songs. Can you include the metadata %title% in the text file name or include the %title% on a separate line at the top of the included text when lyrics are found? If the song file doesn't contain the %title% metadata, then the file name could be used.

Hi Nitorami,

I really enjoy using your Milkdrop presets. Thank you for this package of updates. They do run better with the Nvidia graphics card I'm using. I'm using version 2.39 of Milkdrop that comes with the current x86 beta build #21066 of WACUP.

Hi dro,

Thank you for having the beta version of WACUP now make backups of the studio.xnf file. I had been making manual backups from time to time. It is better to have a backup automatically made each time WACUP is ran.

Hi,

Sounds like I need to look into the Peace EQ. The AC3Filter code is limited to 5.1. I have been holding back on moving to a 7.1 speaker system because of that.  :)

Thank you for mentioning it!

Ok, no problems. I have a 5.1 speaker system and wanted a custom way to direct the stereo channels to all my speakers.

Happy New Year!

The configuration can be as complicated or simple as you want. The simplest way to just swap channels is to set the mixing matrix on the Mixer panel as follows: enter 1.0 in the R column of the L' row, 1.0 in the L column of the R' row and 0 in all the other matrix boxes; and disable the Delays. Uncheck all the options on the Options panel, disable the AGC and set the output format to match that of your source files. You should set all the boxes on the Gains panel to 0 and disable the DRC.

I suggest you read how it works and experiment with different settings.

Oh, I forgot to mention that this output plug-in directs it's output to another output plug-in. I use the Not So Direct v1.7.11 (out_notsodirect.dll) plug-in.

The Not So Neo Output Mixer v1.0.7 (out_neo.dll) plug-in not only lets you configure a left and right channel swap, it also lets you configure stereo input channels into 5.1 output channels. It also lets you increase or decrease the volume of the input and output channels and change the sample rate and bit-depth of the source channels.

I have been using it or various variations for years with Winamp and WACUP. It is based on the matrix mixer AC3Filter software. Read the info on this site (https://matrix-mixer.sourceforge.net/) for how to configure the matrix.

Hi SuperVGBoy,

Happy Holidays!

I have 6,693 mp3s in my collection. They vary in length from 1:14 to 20:06 minutes (with various amounts of silence or low volume when they start) and all are decoded correctly by the old input plug-in (in_mp3.dll  v4.103). If your problem mp3s are encoded properly, maybe it's the output plug-in you're using that is causing your issue.

The out_notsodirect.dll output plug-in (v1.7.8.) has an option to remove silence at the start and/or end of tracks. It requires selecting the proper dB level and several seconds of buffer space. It doesn't work very well for me, so I just accept the few seconds of silence some of my songs start and/or end with. These few seconds of silence do not cut off any part of the actual songs.

The app "mp3 DirectCut" lets you delete (cut out) silence at the start and/or end of mp3s without needing to re-encode the mp3s. I have used it successfully to modify my mp3s that had more than a few seconds of silence at their beginning and/or end.

I don't know if it will help, but you can try changing the song in the playlist editor that WACUP tries to start with. Edit the "winamp.ini" file's "pilp=" parameter's value in the "[Winamp]" section to one less than the position in the playlist of the song you want to start with. For example, set the value to 9 if you want to start with the 10th song.

If you are using the Time Restore & AutoPlay plug-in (gen_timerestore.dll), also change the "track=" parameter's value in the "winamp.ini" file's "[Time Restore & AutoPlay]" section to the same value.

Try right-clicking on the albumart image. It should offer an "Open Folder" command that will open the folder the song is in and highlight it.

Hi thisisbbc,

Sorry for the late reply and sorry you're having problems with MusicIP Mixer and your flac files. Most of my files are mp3, but the flac files I have were analyzed without problems. My files are on a solid state NTFS drive, so that may be the reason why.

Anyway, here is another article about MusicIP Mixer (https://oldmanmetal.com/2019/04/15/musicip-mixer-playlist-generator-extraordinaire/) for any others who may want to try it. It explains how to register the app which will enable it's power tools. MusicIP Mixer will not use the BPM metadata tag when making playlists. But, it's been my experience that using BPM is not a good way to match the sonic similarity of other files, with a similar BPM, to that of a seed song.

Hi dro,

I thought the Nullsoft Disk Writer plug_in only works with local files (converting formats and saving the result). Does it also allow saving streams WACUP is playing?

Downloading a song without paying for it is stealing. Search google for many ways to download songs with and without paying for them. For example, there are sites that let you paste a link to a you-tube video that will extract the audio from the video into a downloadable mp3 file. You get the song and the artist (others involved) who performed gets nothing. There are also sites where you can download songs for a reasonable fee and the artists (and others involved) get paid.

The lower ATF string looks correct. There is a bug in the prior beta version #19516. Try the latest version #19762, if you have access to it. Otherwise you will need to wait for an updated public preview version.
