Did some file comparison after moving the Preferences Windows around and looks like it's stored in the C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\WACUP\winamp.ini file in the [Winamp] section with the following lines:

pref_wh=119 (default seem to be 0, this is after I lengthened it.. can't change the width of the Window)
pref_wx=789
pref_wy=100

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Requesting old Preview Installer
« on: June 03, 2025, 08:00:08 PM »
Looking at https://getwacup.com/preview/ it does have a link to the previous 21622 version there.

The 2nd paragraph:
Quote
If you are looking for the prior preview build (v1.99.31.21622) then it can for now still be found here though you really should be reporting issues against this build so it can be resolved & a newer preview build provided to resolve those issues :)

Hope that helps.

Ah, yeah, x64 build is a bit different.  I am using the x86 build mainly.

I also have the x64 build installed into a separate folder and it is missing the ID3 tabs when viewing the info for those types of files.

Anyway, glad you got it sorted.

It should be able to as mine can (Well, I am on the latest beta which looks to be a newer version than the preview version).

Anyway, It looks like the input plugins handle the meta tags.  The Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder (in_mp3.dll) handles reading/writing of tags for MP3 files and such. When I view a file's info I see a ID3v1 and ID3v2 tabs.

So, you might make sure that plugin is enabled and if you configure it all the options are checked.

That's all I can think of for now.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: WACUP is almost perfect, 2 minor issues
« on: April 11, 2025, 11:33:08 PM »
As a sort of work-around for the Enqueue option, you can Right-Click on a file in WACUP's Media Library and choose the Enqueue option there to add it to the current playlist.

I know not the same as doing it from Explorer but thought I'd mention it.

For the ones that are not joined together, you might try editing the meta tags of those files such that the Album Artist is the same for all of them (something like "Various Artists" or "Name of Album Artists").  Most likely, those files just have Artist (ie Track Artist) entered with the Album Artist being blank or the same as Artist.

Anyway, it groups albums by Album and Album Artist.  If Album Artist is missing, then it seem to group by Album and Artist.

That's what I think is going on anyway.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Issues opening multiple files?
« on: January 02, 2025, 05:09:25 AM »
Well, LazyTomato did say:

(Windows 10 by the way)
So my guess would be they are on Windows 10 Home or Pro.
As far as the issues go, not sure. I tend to just Enqueue my entire Media Library into the main playlist and let it play stuff at random.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Genre Tag Issue
« on: May 06, 2024, 05:30:00 AM »
I tested this out (with v1.99.12.18980) with a MP3 file I made using the Genre of "Symphonic" that I tagged with MP3TAG and then added it into Wacup.  I then viewed the file with the "View File Info" or ALT-3 option and it did just show "Symphonic" in the Genre field.

Now, if I select the field it does seem to automatically choose "Symphonic Rock" when clicking the down arrow.   If I just click in the field then it doesn't change it.

MP3TAG behaves the same way with the Genre field so suspect this is normal behavior.  Is yours changing if you just click in the field?

I did some messing around and in my case if I start with a modern (like Bento) or classic skin (Nucleo_NLog_v102_.wsz) and switch to the Built-in classic skin then it doesn't want to switch to either a modern or another classic skin afterwards unless I restart.  Going between various other classic or modern skins doesn't seem to be an issue.

I don't change skins much so not something I would have caught before. I'll try the Procdump process.

Edit: Sent a procdump in email.  Hopefully shows something related to this.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but WACUP groups an album by the Album Artist and Album Title.  If it's some kind of compilation album where each track might be a different artist then what you might need to do is tag each track with an Album Artist of Various Artists and Artist as the particular track artist.

Right now I'm playing this Woman Trance Voices Vol. 9 album where I made the Album Artist "Woman Trance Voices" and this particular track has an Artist of "Bobina & Betsie Larkin".
Hopefully that makes sense.

Yeah, I ran into the same problem renaming .OPUS files causing Windows Explorer to freeze.  MP3Tag would also freeze for awhile if I tried to update the meta tags in them.  I also ended up uninstalling the "Web Media Extensions" app which solved the issues.

Skins / Re: WACUP Refugee (Last updated: August 17th 2021)

Hmm.. I'll have to try this one out.

28
Well, if I click Options > Notifications I have it set to Only When Minimized.  There is also an option to never show.

At least, that's where it is at on the Bento skin.

Just to make it's not playing the last song in the playlist and repeat is not on?  If so, it will stop playing after the last song in the list.

Skins / Re: New side project: Winamp 1.00 as a Modern Skin
« on: April 10, 2022, 06:51:24 PM »
That seems to have done it.  The setting on this skin now does not affect the other skins.  So now when I set this one to count down, the others remain unchanged and still count down instead of up.
