Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #19100 (May 10th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #19100 (May 10th 2024) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Can't Play aac or wma Files

Can you provide some info on what the AAC file contains (codec and the like)?
As for WMA, you'll have to manually enter the WMA file extension into the DirectShow plugin, since there's no longer a dedicated plugin that handles WMA/WMV.

General Discussion / Re: Winamp source code to be released

And if you read carefully, no mention of Open Source anywhere :-)

There's also a PDF of a press release that, more or less says the same.

https://www.llama-group.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/2024-05-16-open-source-en.pdf

It can be argued that their wording implies it'll be open source, though it's not mentioned under what license it'll operate (is it GPL? BSD? MIT? WTFPL? No one knows!) or that it'll be found in a git repository either on Github or some hosted instance.

If there's anything any one of us should've learned from previous announcements, they'll either not hold their own deadline, or they do follow through and it's behind closed doors with you being required to sign up. It's noteworthy that they fired most of the people working for them, so they might as well get people to do the work for free.

TL;DR: Don't get your hopes up.

It more than likely won't be released in the manner you (or anyone) would expect

If anything it'll be "available" to people who sign up, or it'll be on github with a weird license that might as well be the most restrictive possible, I don't know, I'll remain skeptical until it really happens.

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Re: Classic Skin Modules Resizing

I should point out that DeClassified does not store your custom scaling settings since that gets overwritten with the double size mode, hindsight is 20/20 and I wish I added the double size feature behind the Classic Skin Compatibility checkbox so that, when unchecked, scaling can be freely applied.

For number 2 the shuffling stuff has been addressed in many many beta builds ago and thus should work better than it does in Winamp, give it a try!

We've discovered what the issue is, turns out she had an automatic Folder Monitor scan running for a 4TB external drive that wanted to scan everything, which caused a memory leak every time WACUP was started, this was disabled and it now no longer causes insane memory leaks

Skins / Re: Graphic Equalizer window of the JVC Tape v1.2 modern skin
« on: July 15, 2023, 07:42:26 PM »
The reason for this is because the visualizer relies on an API that also powers the mini visualization (Oscilloscope and Spectrum Analyzer all in one, pretty much in Winamp Modern, Bento and Classic) which has never been able to display left and right channels since the days of Winamp3.

This remains unfixable.

General Discussion / Re: SWF to work in WACUP
« on: April 02, 2023, 09:17:44 PM »
Short answer is, you don't.
Long answer is, there is no third party plugin that allows either WACUP or Winamp to play Flash files as intended, and with Flash effectively been killed off, it makes no sense to try and play Flash files within Winamp/WACUP.

You could look at Ruffle or BlueMaxima's Flashpoint in getting them to play.

I could provide a patch for BBM with the version check I do for DeClassified (as seen here), only with Victhor's OK

Waveform Seeker exists as it should

And the option to use the integrated Waveform Seeker is also here as well

For all windows to follow the scaling, you can tick this box in the Modern Skins settings:

Never ever edit the studio.xnf to do it manually, even if you know what you're doing, you may still break it.

I'm not sure what is meant with "a copy of the settings in options in the winamp/wacup menu" and "The browser might have something, as it appears there already"...

What is described happens in both the preview and current beta builds.
