Latest WACUP public preview for x86 & x64 is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)
Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

To get my silence detector to relaunch the playback if internet drops in my case, I randomly whacked it to some four digit negative number and It worked. But what does it actually do?

General Discussion / Re: Winamp source code to be released

I bet they simply wanted others to fix their issues for them. :D

Oh hey, maybe you can convert the gen_ff to x64 to allow WACUP x64 have Modern Skin Support?

Any update regarding to the issue will come in good use for people with an unstable mobile internet.

Btw, when the cut happens, I noticed that my internet connectivity is reset. Nothing else on my PC, not even massive downloads cause this network reset. Ofc it's not WACUP's fault as I've also tried the stations' web player and it seems that something in the middle hates online radios. :D

Also I meant that the silence detector function doesn't seem to launch anymore after the recent update. Only once I leave its config page it does triggers, but only once. But when options are closed, it doesn't trigger at all. In previous version it worked very well. Idk, maybe I'm going mad.

After replacing my router I found out something in between still hates when I listen to my online radio...

It's a very neat feature to have in WACUP. But I think it has a trigger bug: it seems to activate the silence timer only when you leave its config page - it only seems to trigger once only.

Oh, oh cool!

It came out that actually the rocks in my router had aged so far that they couldn't process or hold any logic anymore. After 5 years of hard work the router went to an eternal rest.

So, I'm looking at the Silence Detection tab and I want to be clear.
As I understand if there's silence in the period of set "Silence timeout" the Action On Timeout will be triggered?
And what is "Idle timeout"? Also in seconds? Doesn't say. Does it specify how long to wait until triggering the Action On Timeout?

Ah yes, after trying it out, it's all just as I thought.
I also noticed that if I stop the playback manually, the silence detection function will then trigger also. If only the detector had an option to check if user stopped playback, it would be great.

My ISP hates when I listen to online radios and resets my internet periodically. It takes about a minute or two for connectivity to restore. After the reset WACUP just keeps showing [Buffering: 0%] and is unable to continue playback. Have to double-click on the entry to make it start playing again.

What I wish is for WACUP to detect internet drop, wait a few min and try start playing the online radio again.

Thanks.

I kid you not I just found out the damn cause...

I downloaded random OGG sample files to test to see if there's something about my OGG files that specifically the latest WACUP PB is picky about...

Get any OGG file, set the file attribute to 'Read-only' and then try playing it - WACUP cannot read the OGG file anymore, it cannot even display its metadata properly, if at all. In 'Read-only' for WACUP the 'file is corrupted' and its playback is skipped.

My MP3s, FLACs and MIDis are unaffected by 'Read-only' bug.

That leaves the window glitching issue which is also new in latest PB.

To test this, you need some application running that shows on the desktop, like Stickies (by Zhorn Software, freeware btw) or a windowed full screen app.
Minimize WACUP to tray. Then click on its tray icon to make it come up. You'll notice that in case of a running windowed full screen app WACUP's window doesn't show and in case of Stickies it hides behind the sticky note on the desktop, as if following 'bottom-most' order instruction. Even if to toggle WACUP to be 'Always On Top' it will have hard time following that instruction.
The previous PB didn't have issues showing its window, I also never had to enable 'Always On Top'.

The latest PB also has difficulties rendering the Drone skin by R. Peter Clark and 883DESIGN (year 2006 skin) - e.g.: playlist border disappears after going over an element which shows a 'tooltip'. The Drone skin tooltips now also have extra black bits which aren't supposed to exist.

Alright now, happy solving! Will be waiting for next PB. :)

I tried disabling input plugins. That made no difference.

There has to be something wrong with the in_vorbis.dll itself.
Do you have any older versions of this DLL which are compatible with preview build v17040 which I could test?

The OGG files were created with ffmpeg btw.
Code: [Select]
-vn -sn -dn -map_metadata -1 -c:a libvorbis -aq 8 -ac 2Metadata is added with MusicBrainz Picard.

Oh! As I wasn't paying attention while WACUP installed, did the installer try to download something that is vital for it?

9
Hmm, so I should try setting plug-in's Device Volume Control to None?
Alright thanks, will try and observe behavior.

Here you go, sir.

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Lock process volume level changing at 100%
« on: October 27, 2023, 05:19:01 PM »
Sometimes when I start playing a MID file after playing some other format the process volume level is set to 14% (and it's always set to 14% specifically btw). Which enrages me as I have to open up the Windows' Volume Mixer and play with levels, which gets very messy.

It is set back to 14% after next MID file starts, so I have to close WACUP after I've set to 100% before playing the next MID file to make 'that something' remember the new level...

So thank you a lot for implementing that feature separately into WACUP so now I can simply open the Volume tab and drag the slider back into its place. :)

But I am wondering, if you could implement some sort of option that prohibits plugins from setting WACUP's volume level, or something general that keep it at 100% at all times?

Yes, the plugin Ogg Vorbis Decoder v1.8 is in the list and enabled.

Yes, the file metadata is read correctly.

Preview Build Discussion / OGG files not playing in Public Preview v17040
« on: October 27, 2023, 02:32:28 PM »
My OGG files are not being played by the latest WACUP. The previous public preview didn't have this issue.
All other media players and my chinese phone play the files fine.
I would appreciate a solution. :>

Oh! I did not pay attention. I am so used to generic installers with generic EULA.
I now noticed that it wants to download even more things? With offline install I'm missing skins. Can't tell what else. Too tired.

Installed again, with internet this time, I noticed at least 2 additional downloads. Were they mentioned in EULA too? At least the skins are back now.
But I don't know the download links anyway to include them with the installer. Please help me dro.

One good thing this far is that WACUP doesn't spam reset my internet when trying to listen to an online radio.
Thanks for that dro! I can finally continue listening to my fav online radio without needing to pull all my hair out.

What if I want to install WACUP on computer that doesn't always have access to internet?
Would it hurt, if WACUP installer had an ability to pick WinAmp's installer from WACUP installer's launch directory?
