I need some help. I bought a DVD without realizing it was a DVD-AUDIO disk. None of my Players play DVD-AUDIO disks. I have an old W10 computer with a DVD drive and it plays. I was able to rip the DVD to multi channel FLAC 5.1 and WAV 5.1 These play find in WACUP. They are 48,000 16Bit recordings. I was able to Rip the DVD Chapters to MPG files and retain the DTS & Dolby 5.1 at 24 Bit. These play fine on my W10 computer with windows Media player & WACUP. MS with all it’s great wisdom took out the codec’s for Dolby/DTS in Windows 11. Looking into the Codec’s, I found Shark007Codecs (Currently uninstalled It sort of worked for WACUP but there was a lot of distortion), on the Shark webpage there was a file ‘windows_Dolby_updat.7z’ (Currently installed and allows WMP to play Dolby Videos but not DTS).
I know the files a good because they work on W10/11 WMP, But when I play them in WACUP all there is static. I searched the site for AC3 and found the “winampac3_1_20a.exe” file and installed it into WACUP. I have checked and the file ‘in_winampac3.dll’ is in the plug-in directory. I have gone into WACUP settings ‘Plug-ins/input/ and activated winampAC3 decoder (AC3/DTS)’.
When I play the Dolby or DTS file all I get is white noise. What am I doing wrong? Ohm, I am using WACUP build version 1.99.32.21640 Dated Sep. 28 2024 32 bit. (the later build kept crashing on me so I reverted back.) I’m connected to my AVR via HDMI ( I think it’s HDMI V1.1, Old cable can’t afford a new one to run that far.).
-Update I uninstalled K-Lite Codec Pack. Now in WACUP I have music for both Dolby and DTS, but there is a lot of distortion. When I go into the WinampAC3 plug in configuration while playing sound should there be level indicters for the speaker channels? I have Zip.
-- Update I uninstalled the WMP Dolby codec. I uninstalled the WinampAC3 Plug in, reinstalled the WinampAC3 plug in rebooted. Now I'm back to no sound WACUP will not even attempt to play the files.
Any Help on getting this to play is welcome.
