Hi,

I would be very interested in this feature, it's something that I've been thinking of for a while. Here's another use case: add a "featuring" field. For example, in the Queen's album Hot Space, most tracks have only Queen as Interpret, except for Under Pressure, which features David Bowie. If the Interpret field is Queen feat. David Bowie, it messes with the album grouping, which means the Album Interpret has to be used. Using a Featuring field for storing David Bowie would make more sense.
And does this feature implies that title formatting would also need to be redone? Would make sense.

About the feasibility, could this be a way to go: Let the user specify which fields he needs, which defines the library metadata, and if there's a change in this metadata, have the library rebuild itself. I guess this rebuild would be quite difficult to implement, and very CPU consuming, but maybe it's feasible...

Hi DrO,

another idea. What about changing the icon of a smart view. That can already be done to a certain expanse, by loading a preset and then modify the request, but this approach is very limited, and not very easy to use. Why not adding a whole set of icons, and the possibility to explicitly choose from this set? I know I would use this feature. You could also add the possibility to select external icon.

And even better if it could be done for playlists too!

Hi all,

thanks for the link. This picture box widget gets the job done. On the other hand, it's even more restrictive than just relying on modern skins. I prefer to use the Big Bento skin, and couldn't find an exact CPro copy of it (though there's one that is quite close to it).

Hi Victhor,

I don't have this bug, so won't be able to help.
I have a suggestion about the volume button. It looks cool, but in Bento, one can change the volume in just one click, since there's a direct access to the volume bar. Maybe you could consider finding a way to offer a similar option...

Hi DrO,

IMHO the new way of managing playlists in the ML is a good idea, it take advantage of horizontal space better than the other one. There's one thing, though, that it's lacking. Playlists order can't be changed anymore, except by clicking in the columns headers. I like to order my playlists in a specific way (genre playlists first, then best of, and misc at the end). It would be cool if ordering could be changed by drag-and-drop.
Also, do you plan to add columns selection ?

I understand the need for features to work with both type of skins. Maybe the media library tab is the best solution for maximum skin compatibility (even though my preference would go to multi-content view).

I'l not sure what you mean in your first paragraph. Do you talk about art editing? Because I only mean visualization.
About that, I'm personally more interested in a modern UI solution, since I use Bento, but I understand the difficulty of it. Maybe a new tab in the media library?
There maybe another solution, but I guess it's more skin-specific : an option could be added to Bento for having all the art displayed in the multi-content view area.

Hi DrO,

first, I'm not sure you got my message about beta testing. I can't see it in my message box...

My idea is close to the ultimate "playing now" I've already seen on this forum. What about having a way to navigate through all the art embedded  in a file, not only the cover ? I like to have, when possible, all the scans from an album (Qobuz, for example, often provides it), but in Winamp, I can only enjoy the cover. WHat about a plugin that, when double clicking on the cover art , opens an art navigator in which one could swipe from one image to the others. Even better, have all the images arranged depending on their tag, with the box and the inner book (not sure I'm clear enough...)

Anyway, thanks for the great work!
