General Discussion / Re: [CHANGES MADE] Not So Neo Output Mixer & 24-bit
« on: December 06, 2025, 10:27:21 AM »
It's not meant to be changing the drop down with as-is selected & I spent an age trying to have it act like the other as-is options so it wouldn't do what you've described its doing so something is still broken somewhere *meh*

I was also under the impression you wanted it to be set to a fixed bit depth for the output which from other feedback seemingly is working so I'm not going to prioritise doing more on the as-is mode & tbqh I'm fed up of trying to change that plug-in as it's just not fun to work on.

Visualisations / Re: Nero Animation Studio (vis_nas)

It won't work under WACUP because the plug-in isn't DEP/NX-bit compatible but WACUP is built with the flag to indicate it is which causes the OS LoadLibrary call to fail on such dlls. That matches to the failed to load status reported for it as part of the Visualisation plug-in prefs page. Additionally the plug-in when it is able to be loaded also appears to be somewhat unstable (it hung WACUP & 2.95).

The changes I've just finished doing to out_neo & have now put up as another post-release update for it should allow the bitdepth to be specifically set or left in an as-is mode hopefully without breaking anything else though there's a possibility it might require having to do a bit of re-configuration to get things to follow what's wanted.

General Discussion / Re: New member, hi! Also first issue with Wacup

Don't do that! You likely just need to either run wacup.exe /REPAIR (this can reset a number of aspects including all skin positions) or if it's only classic/2.x skins that are affected wacup.exe /RESETCLASSICSKINPOS from a command-line prompt from within the WACUP program folder.

Why are you using 1.99.15.19320 when that's ~1.5yrs behind the current 1.99.43.23234 as of this reply ?

The bitdepth setting hasn't ever really worked as a fixed setting from the originally forked plug-in so I'll need to look at adding an as-is option to match the channel & sample rate handling. At least those other options with the as-is mode seem to be working ok now unlike before.

There's now post release patches for 23234 & the newer out_neo that's part of it should behave correctly for the channel output setting once it's been reselected to what's wanted.

I can't replicate it sounding wrong as you've noted but the fixes that were made to deal with it outputting wrongly when the input details have changed is seemingly overriding the hack that was already in place to force the output mode so I've screwed that plug-in up even more than it already was, wonderful. You'll have to roll back to a build that worked for you.

This should now be resolved for the next preview build to be released.

I've done it like the text one for when the preview build is updated so it'll use what you provide it to use otherwise it'll act like it currently does if not given a file to use.

General Discussion / Re: Few questions if I may.

1) Modern skins are implemented via a re-used plug-in from Winamp 5.666 (somewhat equivalent to Winamp3 turned into a plug-in & forced to run in a manner it was never really meant for) & there can be delays for messages being sent by it to the core. I suspect this is what you're experiencing whereas classic skins are directly implemented by the WACUP core & so can avoid some of the mess that can go on in getting the actions passed around (along with being less resource intensive in how they work & are implemented).

2) I'm not seeing this from a quick check under both skin types with my current dev build. It is possible that other aspects running might be taking longer than would be liked to react to the actions (e.g. current item specific artwork / lyrics look-up). Holding a key down isn't the best of things to be doing so there's likely some scenarios that I'm not accounting for as it's not something I've actively tested when I'd expect the action to be slower / single actions instead of hold / quick repeats. It's something I'll have to consider looking into later on.

Skins / Re: Winamp Classic Modern by Victhor

You'd need to edit the WCM skin though I can't remember if it'd involve just modifying xml files &/or if it involves maki scripting changes.

I had wondered if I should've also added in something similar for the current artwork when the log handling only recently got the stop specific mode as there's nothing in place at the moment that'd do it. Having it use a 'stop' specific image isn't tricky to get done though am also wondering if it should offer a means to remove the file completely or have it make the last image be all transparent so dealing with the the size of the image then isn't an issue (per the other config already offered for sizing).

General Discussion / Re: song starting bug
« on: November 13, 2025, 01:20:39 PM »
in_mp3 isn't actively used for playback & is only kept around by the x86 build so it can modify metadata on mp3 files. imho there's no need for in_mpg123 & the only thing I can find on here was from some time back & the solution then was also to disable it as it wasn't necessary.

[edit]
Something that is however helpful for anyone else looking at this later on is via Preferences -> About | Updates -> About tab -> Running Statistics group which indicates the active input & output plug-ins.
