Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #18654 (March 24th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #17040 (September 30th 2023) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Look in the preferences panel under plugins/Portables
Make sure USB and MTP plugins are enabled.
Connect the phone in normal mass storage mode, and the first time the removable device is seen WACUP should show a popup asking you what to do.
You can force it to show the popup if you click the "configure" button when selecting the USB plugin in the prefs.
It will ask you to select the drive letter the phone is using, and then pressing the "connect drive" button should make the phone now show in the portables section of the media library.
Right-click on the device in the media library to go directly to the settings for that storage device.
The settings include whether you want to automatically sync from playlists or recent files etc.

General Discussion / Re: Minimum GPU specs for Milkdrop at 4K 60 FPS
« on: December 27, 2022, 11:26:18 PM »
It really depends on the presets in use at the time.
Most are lightweight but many of the most impressive are heavy especially when blending between.

4k is overkill unless your screen is wall size.
I used to be a VJ and can tell you that if the FPS is high then you won't notice it is a lower resolution.
Nothing hangs around on screen for long enough to tell 1 pixel from another.

If you use the keyboard shortcuts to add text and images, then the extra resolution can be useful, but again this depends on the images and the font settings used per preset.

Chrome would still send mangled audio to WACUP.
The solution is really to fix the audio in chrome.
Depending on your sound drivers it seems that different CLI parameters work for different people.
Forcing it to adapt to multi-channels worked on my system, but other people get better audio just by forcing WAV output.
Some need a combination of command switches.

See here for examples

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Waveform Seeker Display ...
« on: September 29, 2021, 08:39:34 PM »
In simple terms;
Reading a compressed digital file from a fast storage medium, means it does not risk pausing or stuttering the music due to having to actively scan the whole file at the same time as playback.
Temporarily the player is reading 2 parts of the same file at the same time.

With an audio CD you have large full uncompressed audio on a slow device, thus risking a massive delay with processing.

I think the only sensible way to have waveforms for CDs, would be to have a way to scan the CD before playing, like the way the volume levels are done.

General Discussion / Re: Can you create a collective podcast feed?
« on: August 31, 2021, 12:22:51 AM »
You will have to compile your feeds into a single feed using an online RSS aggregator.

6
Which output plugin are you using and have you tried swapping to another ?

General Discussion / Re: AWESOME! JUST DISCOVERED WACUP!
« on: May 29, 2021, 04:37:51 AM »
The DSP side of things is being reworked but many old plugins work well.
It is useful to report any bugs you find with old plugins, as it does help with knowing what to support or fix if the problem is in the old Winamp code.

*cough* Also useful is providing a link to plugins you are referring to, so others can confirm the same results.
http://sqrsoft.com.ar

As it seems active I think you should report your bug in the newest version to them, and perhaps suggest they also checkout WACUP as the active continuation of the Winamp project.
A new core means new plugin possibilities so maybe they will be able to make use of new features as available.

It still uses linein the same way.
Open the "Play URL" in the file menu.
Use "linein://"

Or use the more advanced WACUP capture settings in the prefs panel

Change the settings in the AC3 plugin to stereo.
make sure you have the newest version https://sourceforge.net/projects/ac3filter/files/winampac3/

As the title says there is, there is.
However you seem to be mixing a statement with a question.

Are you saying there is one, or asking if there is one ?
If you are asking then no not really.
Some album art is exactly square and some rectangular, hence the album art popup window can accommodate any ratio you have.
The size depends on the resolution of your display and if you prefer to see it at 100% scale, or scaled down from as big as you can find.

Me I opt for a large high quality image in the folder with the name cover.* or front.* or folder.* or the album name, and if I embed them I use medium sized images usually over 512x512 saved as JPG so they don't bloat the music files too much.

I don't understand the benefit of converting MP3s to a lossless format.
The quality won't be better as the damage is already done, and you waste a lot of space.

@Mits WACUP does have CUE support but not as a playlist.
Open the wave display for a file and if the CUE file is there you should see names and dividers.

General Discussion / Extra plugins you may need
« on: January 02, 2021, 08:34:46 AM »
WACUP is very complete but there are a few extra file formats and input/output solutions you may need.
NOTE: Wacup already plays Shockwave Flash SWF files, so don't bother looking for a plugin.

You can use the Media Player Classic standalone RealMedia splitter instead.

OFR OptimFROG lossless audio input plugin by Florin Ghido.

Weird MPEG Variants will often play back on regular MP3 decoders, but will ignore extra data.
You may need a specific plugin to hear the extra frequency bands, channels or lossless audio.
You should convert any of these files to a better supported format and disable the plugin after being used.

Sometimes WACUP doesn't swap the device immediately.
You may have to select the one you want then close the player.
It should detect it fine when loading again.

The Windows playback device settings can be accessed by right-clicking on the volume icon in the system tray (see the image).
Unless an output plugin has it's own options for setting the output quality, Winamp and Wacup ask Windows what it is currently set to (including the amount of channels available).

Have you tried this plugin ?

1) This is not the Winamp site, This is WACUP.
2) Please state which version of WACUP you are using.
3) please state which WACUP output plugins you have tried or are wanting to use.
4) What is the quality setting displayed in the playback devices windows panel for your DAC. Make sure Windows is announcing the correct settings.
5) if your DAC does not come with ASIO drivers and support, you will have to install ASIO4all or a virtual audio driver from the VoiceMeeter site.
You will still need to set the desired preferred quality in the windows own playback options.
