Help with sqrsoft advanced crossfading
« on: November 03, 2025, 01:49:12 PM »
First of all, I want to highlight the excellent work on this project, which is truly outstanding. Kudos to everyone involved in its development and maintenance.

After years, I have returned to Winamp, and when I discovered this project, I migrated immediately.

However, I have been having problems when trying to use Sqrsoft Advanced Crossfading.

I have been reading quite a bit about this problem in various places, including this forum, where someone else had already reported this problem back in 2019
https://getwacup.com/community/index.php?topic=630.0

Later, it was marked as solved as part of build 1.0.6.4220 (x86), citing: Fixed a number of compatibility-related crashes with the sqrsoft output & general-purpose controller plug-ins (it would be nice to get them updated to support more recent wacup/winamp releases, but that is probably a lost cause based on prior attempts).

In 2021, the same problem was reported again
https://getwacup.com/community/index.php?topic=1208.0
and a user mentioned that they were using version 1.75 of Sqrsoft Advanced Crossfading.

Now, in my case, I have tried everything to make it work and have been unsuccessful, so at this point, I am turning to this community. I have tried two versions of Sqrsoft Advanced Crossfading, 1.7.6 from https://winampheritage.com/plugin/sqrsoft-advanced-crossfading-output/32368 and the most “recent” one from the official website, version v1.7.9.1243 http://sqrsoft.com.ar/downloads.html

I haven't been able to find version 1.7.5 anywhere.
If anyone could take the time to read this and has a solution or recommendation, it would be greatly appreciated, and I would be grateful in advance.

I am using the latest build: WACUP_Preview_v1_99_41_22982_x86
I am not using any other plugins apart from those that come by default with the installation.

No version of that plug-in is stable in wacup which I don't believe is my code being at fault as it's also possible to get a plain 5.666 to fail from what I remember with it but as I can't get a response from the dev of that plug-in from prior attempts there's little that can be done. All I can tell from the various crash reports that keep coming in from it is that it seems to fail within a processing thread of the plug-in.
