Title: splits 1 album into multiple albums all contaning the same artist
Post by: rose_merry on April 09, 2024, 12:42:14 AM
I am a new Wacup user and was wondering if there was any way to stop wacup from splitting an album by artist. I can send a screenshot if needed but the folder is not split like it is in Wacup.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but WACUP groups an album by the Album Artist and Album Title.  If it's some kind of compilation album where each track might be a different artist then what you might need to do is tag each track with an Album Artist of Various Artists and Artist as the particular track artist.

Right now I'm playing this Woman Trance Voices Vol. 9 album where I made the Album Artist "Woman Trance Voices" and this particular track has an Artist of "Bobina & Betsie Larkin".
Hopefully that makes sense.

I tag my songs the way MarkRH suggests. I also enable all the filter options on the Preferences Media Library-Local Library-Options tab, except the "Ignore the The ..." and "Use limited associative ..." options. This works pretty well for me.

Using files correctly tagged with albumartist is the preferred option. Alternatively going to preferences -> media library -> local library -> unchecking "Use Album Artist when grouping the Album & Albumart filter results" might in some cases group things in a more expected manner depending on what metadata has been found from the files to start with.
