I uninstalled and removed all remnants from appdata\roaming and now it seems to be OK. weird.

it seems to work fine on portable mode...so what could be wrong on my installed version?
Using the default winamp 3/5-like skin on the portable test. could it be related to the skins i use on my installed version? they are some old winamp 2/5 skins.
BTW, I'm gonna try build 24784 and see what happens.
update: tried the new build, no luck, same result. even with the default skin.
should I do a clean install? should I remove anything additional from appdata and/or the registry to ensure a clean uninstall?

if I do that, then it will not show any lyrics...i HAVE TO click on a song to get the lyrics.
BTW, trying build 24626 and the lyrics issue persists. If i don't click on the playlist entry, then the lyrics DO NOT show for the currently playing song, the pane is stuck with the previous song whose lyrics were shown. There' something very wrong with the lyrics handling.

I have an update on this bug. Trying v. 1.99.50.24496 (x64) and this bug persists. Whenever I change the song by pressing "next", the lyrics pane is not updated, no matter how much time passes. clicking (once) on the playlist entry immediately updates the pane and makes the lyrics appear shortly after. The same thing happens if the songs ends a new one starts, no update on the lyrics pane.
Additionally, if I'm listening to a song, but just single click another entry in the playlist, then the lyrics for that song appear, replacing the ones for the song I'm actually listening to.
To sum it up: The lyrics plugin shows the lyrics for the highlighted item in the playlist, regardless if it's the one currently playing and it doesn't update automatically when the song changes, EXCEPT if you click or double click the song.
I hope you can figure this out once and for all.

I think i know what's happening, the lyrics plugin is too slow, it can't keep up if you change songs in a rapid succession, so it starts showing the incorrect lyrics (also in succession) until it finally catches up to the song you're actually listening to...

For issue no.1, i'm using the default lyrics plugin and that option is checked. Another way to get the lyrics is just clicking once on the song (this way you don't have to start the song over). Looks like when the song changes or you press "next", somehow the focus is lost and the song playing is not selected on the playlist. in a very strange twist, now it's somewhat working (the lyrics change), but after clicking "next" a few times, it starts showing the lyrics for the previous song you were listening to, insted of the current one...
What skin i'm using? an old one for winamp 2.x. Maybe i'll change the skin and see if the bug persists.
as for #2, glad you could figure it out.
I can't wait for the next preview.

I'm testing the latest preview and already found a couple of bugs:
1. Lyrics are not updated when the song changes (either because it ended and another one started or because you pressed the "next track" button). The only way to get the lyrics for the song currently playing is to double-click on the song entry in the playlist. and BTW, some of the lyrics are incorrect, wrong words and spelling mistakes (don't know which source is being used)
2. Whenever you click the "misc" button and select "sort by...", to sort the playlist by some criteria, then when you double click on a song in the playlist, WACUP will start playing the first song, instead of playing the song you double-clicked on. it happens every single time you sort your playlist.
I hope these can be fixed on the next preview!
