Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #16956 (September 23rd 2023) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #16956 (September 23rd 2023) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

General Discussion / Re: Embedding albumart in MP3s
« Last post by vikflash on Today at 10:42:07 AM »
Hi Aminifu

I did not notice it was not working in Wacup and don't know the answer to your question

To do this I use a free software called Foobar2000
it has interesting features of embedding an image in whole album files in one time
or batch process to embed in one time, for example in a whole library cover files if you got the cover image in each album folder
or conversely extract embedded cover art to create a cover image in each album folder
and then remove all embedded images in the whole library files

May this help in waiting

Hi
Don't know if I understand the question but

If you select the whole media library mp3 files, right click and choose "send to > calculate Replay Gain", in the end, if you save to files Replay Gain values will written in Metadata for each files for the whole library.

Then if in Preferences > Playback you activate Replay Gain, whatever playlist created on the fly will respect those values written in Metadata.

Calculate Replay Gain for a huge Media library can take a lot of time but it's worth the time

Hope this helps

General Discussion / BIG thank you for the video option working
« Last post by FiftyfourForty on Yesterday at 05:48:25 AM »
I love that i can have all my files in one place and being able to play video files in winamp kicks ass. Pretty much as far as i know, way back during the version 2.95 video play was new to the app. Screw VLC i'm totally happier when my little old winamp plays videos. please maintain the video playback option for this i am willing to pay.....anyone feel the same about our very old and very cool bit of software? wacup is the way i want to go. simply because of the dedication of Dr0 doing this pretty much on hiss own. how old is this guy by now? if you read this dr0, stay young at heart and please keep up the good work. i've got lotsa spare time and would love to help with this hands on.anyway another story altogether.to you and your team Dr0 thanks. fine bit of software.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Latest preview crash when switching between wav and mp3

If a mem dump is still being created, can you compress it please (usually does quite well) & dm me a copy or link to it please so I can double-check it. I've an idea based on something else I fixed yesterday that might be related to it as you mentioned mp3 (the plug-in that handles it has some issues with memory corruption which seems to match to some of the summary details above). If not I'm trying to get a newer build out in a few days that should resolve most of the issues that seem to have been causing crashes with this build.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Latest preview #16956 crashes on close

Ok, if you're not using it then it's best left disabled or removed.

If you do need to use it then I've got a patch for the next build that fixes the hang on closing I could replicate which also lowers the impact of that plug-in being enabled under wacup. Issue is that it runs a load of playback status checks including the current volume level on a background thread & that volume check was the main cause of the issue on closing due to it deadlocking itself.

Preferences -> Skins -> Classic Skins -> Main Window Options -> try checking the use skinned font option. Compared to Winamp I decided to use the non-skinned font as it resolved a number of issues with titles involving non-english characters which the skinned font doesn't support. I also possibly could do with making another option that allows for the playlist windowshaded mode to use the skinned font independently of the main window options.

Also I remember vaguely that the classic Winamp capitalizes all letters in the playlist when in stickbar mode as increasing font size may not be viable. That may also be a possible solution

Preview Build Discussion / Latest preview crash when switching between wav and mp3
« Last post by madoin on September 26, 2023, 11:29:44 PM »
Crash seems to appear when switching fast between wav and mp3 files with mouse double click in playlist or next track button 10+ times when active trakc goes over wav files in playlist. Files are about down 900's items in playlist where there are 10 wav files and others before and after are mp3. Tried setting DSP none, Visualization none, deactivating out_notsodirect.dll but did not help.
It is not always repeatable exacly same way with same files as one time double clicking crashed consistently few times and then it did not and next track clicking did the thing.
Crash is immediate process kill that does not create report zip file but mem dump is still created.
