Latest WACUP public preview for x86 & x64 is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)
Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Do you remember what file type(s) those affected files might be?

A problem I have been encountering with playing music with WACUP is the start of some songs are completely cut off. This commonly happens with songs that have a bit of a lead-in before the rest of the song plays.
I assume it has to do with the volume of the lead-in, but I don't know how to disable/mitigate the cutoff.
Version I'm using: 1.99.22.20202

certainly, no rush, please take your time, and thank you!
as for the skin, i just use the basic classic skin, as i personally find its legibility to be better then the others. as for multi-vis, that is how i run it without issue in 7236. the option to run multiple vis plugins simultaneously is awesome! definitely staying on x86 builds specifically for that alone lol. i should have also noted that i haven't specifically tried it with the versions between 7236 and 20202, but will if requested as i have a few installers saved.
edit; works as multi in WACUP_Preview_v1_99_16_19516, so its just the latest preview that it fails in. edit-edit; now its failing in 19516, so i don't know what is happening  :-[
edit3; WaCup is complaining about dlls that are present, and just sent a crash report from 19516, so hopefully that sheds some light on something. again, in your own time, i'm just adding info here to keep it in one place.

Whitespace is stripped before the multi part query is run which is part of the reason for the behaviour.

Quoting "abba" (with or without the space) iirc should do it otherwise I can't remember if there's a fuzzy vs exact search matching option on the local library prefs page. If not it's getting into using the question mark prefixed manual query support to get the results wanted.

I'll have a look once I resume development later this month. I can't think of anything obvious as to why it'd be misbehaving if it had been ok with the almost 4 year old build as not much has been done when it comes to vis handling. As for multi-vis some plug-ins just won't behave as they were never meant for such things especially if trying to run under a modern style skin.

General Discussion / Re: Wacup was unable to find the nde.dll in the root-folder

The 2 should be able to run dual installed without issue if they were installed into separate folders unless you've managed to put them both into the same program folder.

The simplest thing to try would be to remove the wacup program folders (e.g. c:\program files\wacup & c:\program files (x86)\wacup) & then re-run the x86 installer.

Also what specifically is wrong with the autoplay especially if it's against any specific format(s)? As I'm not aware of / currently remembering anything obvious that'd prevent it from working as long as its been enabled.

General Discussion / Wacup was unable to find the nde.dll in the root-folder
« Last post by TinaFritz on December 02, 2024, 05:52:05 PM »
Hello,

since I accidentally installed Wacup x64-bit, I can no longer start the x86-bit version.

It's irrelevant, if I choose traditional install mode or portable, it's always the same after the installation.
All I get are these errors: "wacup_update.dll could not be found" (when I want to start Wacup right after the installation)
and then "Wacup was unable to find the nde.dll in the root-folder" (everytime when I try to start Wacup after that).

Going back to Wacup x64-bit works, though.
I've also tried uninstalling everything, but sadly, to no avail.

Btw. ofc I have winamp5666_full_en-us_redux.exe right in the install-folder with me, when I try installing the x86-bit version.
I would stay with the x64-bit version, but there the autoplay-function is malfunctioning.

Thanks for reading!

Preview Build Discussion / "the visualisation plug-in executed illegal operation."
« Last post by carls.haven on November 25, 2024, 12:25:13 AM »
hello everybody!

first off, big thanks to Dr.O, amazing work!

however, i am having issues with a _3rd_party_ visualisation plug in, _not_ a built in one.
how to replicate;
install JavaRE 32bit, at least 7u151
install winamp v2; yes i know its not WaCup, but its needed for further steps.
download Morphyre Personal at https://www.morphyre.com/Download note its _not_ the Pro version.
when installing MP, make sure the winamp plugin is checked.
once installed, you can run MP through either the start menu or through winamp2
in winamp2, copy vis_Morphyre.dll into WaCup\Plugins
in WaCup, try to run Morphyre.
i somehow did get it to work in single visualisation mode twice, but now i can't get that. multi-visualisation always crashes;
The visualisation plug-in executed illegal operation. A restart is reccomended (1)
in previous WaCup 1.0.21.7236 it does work, but build 20202 just does not like it i guess.

any help? TIA

Can you make a minor tweak to the media library based on this issue.

If I search for ABBA (don't judge me) in my collection, the media library also shows all the Black Sabbath tracks, so I add a space after abba expecting it to cull the results to only files where abba is a word on it's own.
This is not what happens.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: x64 directshow/nsv video decoder
« Last post by dro on November 21, 2024, 11:53:07 AM »
I currently don't plan on adding nsv to the x64 build as I don't remember some aspects of it being available in an appropriate open license nor if it was even openly documented as a format or if there were some of the precompiled codec libraries that I think were needed being available.

As such nsv with my current thoughts on it would be left as optional for x86 only if the old plug-in & supporting dlls from 5.666 could still be obtained. It might be best to look at converting them into a more general format.

With directshow / media foundation support it's something I'm still weighing up how / what I'm going to do. As I prefer where possible to have things contained within the install folder instead of relying solely on external aspects to do the processing which can introduce issues outside of my control which is a pain to resolve.

So something will happen but for now the x86 build is recommended as it's going to be more feature complete compared to the x86 build since that wacup build can make use of well behaved winamp plug-ins whereas the x64 build is intentionally locked down to just being the pure wacup experience for the time being.
