Preview Build Discussion / Re: Blank media library window right panel
« Last post by qwerty on September 21, 2025, 06:47:50 PM »
Okay, I found the issue!

Sometimes the library would work, sometimes not and I just figured out what it was

Start wacup fresh

1. use Global hotkey for media library, in my case AltGr+L (Ctrl+Alt+L)
  - observe blank Media Library, close it
2. focus Wacup and use Alt+L hotkey to open ML
  - Media Library renders correctly, close it
3. use Global hotkey again
  - this time the Media Library works as expected

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Album Artist Index filter for media libarary views
« Last post by barker1211 on September 19, 2025, 05:42:41 PM »
Hello. I am requesting a new feature.

I would like an "Album Artist Index" filter because occasionally the "Album Artist" field does not match the "Artist" field, and therefore using "Artist Index" in tandem with "Album Artist" does not produce the desired results.

I don't know if anyone has ever wanted what I am requesting, so I'll attempt to explain the problem with an example situation.

I have a view which filters media by "Artist Index", then "Album Artist", then "Album Art", in that order.

So let's say I first go to the letter "V" in "Artist Index", and then I see all the album artists which begin with the letter "V". Now let's say one of the album artist names is "Various". So I select "Various" and these the results I get:
  • Media files where the "Album Artist" field is "Various" AND the "Artist" field begins with the letter "V".
So if I have an album composed of tracks by various artists, the only track I can see in this view is the one track by the band "Voivod" (for example). I won't see any tracks if the album artist is "Various" but the artist begins with a letter other than "V". Of course I can work around this by first selecting "All" in the Artist Index, then "Various", but that defeats the purpose of using an index in my case.

I have many albums by many artists and what I want is to simply organize files from general to specific using the "Album Artist" field: an index based on first letter so I don't have to do a bunch of scrolling, then by full "Album Artist" string, and then by album. So when I select the album art, I want to see all the tracks in that album, not just the tracks where the first letter of the "Artist" field matches the first letter of the "Album Artist" field.

I think an "Album Artist Index" filter would resolve this issue.

Thank you.

Yeah I have that option enabled.

But I have found an updated repro: you do not need to actually change any metadata. Simply scroll halfway down your library, right click any item, "edit metadata for selection..." and the immediately close the new window without changing any fields and the entire library will refresh back to default view at the top.

EDIT: I'm an idiot and literally had this as the original repro lol

Somewhat conversely, if you have a search active that finds one result, (eg. a specific song title) and then change some metadata that invalidates the search, the library will then refresh but land in the CORRECT location with the changed item highlighted. But I have seen that there was a change regarding this in the latest build which could have helped here.

The new option works perfectly, thank you so much!

Stream titles seem to be working properly with this release. :)

General Discussion / Re: working in_shn.dll?

The plug-in doesn't have the api support that's needed to be able to do the likes of waveform previews or format conversion. Was a dumb bug that potentially could've been triggered much earlier though it should've been noticed sooner with the dev builds between 22278 & 22626 but at least it's now resolved.

With [22656] the in_shn is working!
Waveform is unavailable, but that's not such a problem in the first place.

Thanks for the fix  ;D

General Discussion / Re: Last.fm scrobbler info
« Last post by Ixlandia on September 13, 2025, 03:17:51 PM »
Just installed a new version 1.99.39.22656 (x64) and noticed that in Playback -> Last.fm Scrobbler, you can only authorize a player on Last.fm site when you turn the Windows 11 firewall off. Otherwise, you receive a message on the site stating that WACUP is authorized, but the Status panel continues to show "waiting for the authorization," and scrobbling does not work. After you have successfully authorized the player, you can turn your firewall on again, and the scrobbling works.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: [Bug] Rating cannot be changed
« Last post by dro on September 12, 2025, 12:58:39 PM »
I've made a change related to how the library view will try to reflect the rating change which reduces the chance of a full refresh along with the handling of the metadata might've changed notification which is sent which may help at least some of the problem that you're reporting.
