Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #19994 (August 29th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #19994 (August 29th 2024) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Preview Build Discussion / Questions about Ajaxamp/Ampwifi
« Last post by james301 on Today at 07:44:14 AM »
Hello, I have 'winamp' Ver. 5.9.2 build 10042, Ajaxamp and Ampwifi Version 3.4a. It's all set up and it works. I want to switch to WACUP version 1.99.20.199942. In searches it would seem like Ajaxamp and Ampwifi works with WACUP, but the post I found are rather old and AmpWifi was recently updated. For some reason I can not get WACUP to work with ampwifi.

I have tested Ajaxamp by using a browser and putting in the IP address and port number, and it is working on the PC. When I try to connect chrome on my android phone to the IP address it will not connect. when I run ampwifi it also fails to connect to WACUP, but it will connect with 'winamp'.

Questions:
1. Dose the upgraded ampwifi ver. 3.4a work with WACUP/ajaxamp?
2. Is it a conflict because I have Both Winamp and WACUP installed? (I really do not want to uninstall winamp untill Im 100% sure WACUP will work with ampwifi. Don't want to lose my settings.)
3. Are there other plugins/android apps that will do the same thing or better? (other then Homeseer/jon_00 plugin that costs $150)
4. Any tips or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for any help.

General Discussion / Hello I'm new to the forum.
« Last post by james301 on Today at 06:29:41 AM »
Hello everybody. I'm New to the forum, but a very long time winamp fan. I first found it in the late 90s. I don't know when it originally came out. but I found it in the late 90s, and I did not need to search for any other music player! I fell in love with winamp. and I haven't switched or changed since then. I was very pleased and excited to see that it's back in production. and that there's support for it. I have 'winamp' 5.9.2 and I do NOT like where they are taking the software at all. So, I'm switching to WACUP. I installed it a few days ago to check it out. I'm very grateful for this program and I hope to give you my support in any way I can.

Question: When I tried to install build 19994, I clicked on the install program and it did nothing. I then went to the previous build and nothing. I had to go all the way back to build WACUP_Preview_v1_0_21_7236 in order for it to install. Then it did an auto-update and it installed the latest build. It seemed like a possible security issue? Why did it do that?

General Discussion / Re: WACUP Home automation integration - Homeseer

I like what you've done With Home seer. Unfortunately, at $150 it's out of my price range. I'm just trying to run WACUP with my android phone. Do you know of any other plugins and android apps other then Ajaxamp/Ampwifi? I'm asking because I see your a beta tester and it's been over 3 years since you posted this, and I have been having trouble getting AmpWifi to work with the current WACUP Build 1.99.20.19994.
On a side note I was really impressed that you chose 'The Art Of Noise' as part of your demo!!!!

1.99.20.19994 added support to assign library playlists to groups as long as the option to show the playlists as child nodes in the navigation tree is enabled (if its turned off its still possible to change the group applied but it's not going to be used in that state).

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Streams not working in 1.99.20.19994
« Last post by dro on September 03, 2024, 10:25:26 AM »
It's a conflict between in_mp4 & in_mp3 with how the "aac" extension is detected which was missed when adding local aac file playback to in_mp4 (as part of the work to remove / replace the still re-used in_mp3 from the 5.666 installer) & it's incorrectly being attempted to be used to play streams with the .aac extension in their url.

With build 19994 until a fixed build is available (was reported at the weekend & already fixed internally), you can go to Preferences -> Plug-ins -> Input -> find the in_mp4 entry & open its config dialog & remove the ";AAC" part from the extension list, close the dialog & the stream should play it.

Preview Build Discussion / Streams not working in 1.99.20.19994

I'm listening to online radio saved as an m3u with the following stream

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Deutschlandfunk
http://st01.sslstream.dlf.de/dlf/01/high/aac/stream.aac

With the newest version, the stream doesn't play anylonger. I've downgraded to 1.99.16.19516 and it works again, so it's specific to this build!

they dont work saying they are for 32 bit version. How would i fix this issue?

The only fix is to uninstall WACUP 64-bit install WACUP 32-bit.
