Latest WACUP public preview for x86 & x64 is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)
Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Streams not working in 1.99.20.19994
« on: September 03, 2024, 07:19:44 AM »
I'm listening to online radio saved as an m3u with the following stream

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,Deutschlandfunk
http://st01.sslstream.dlf.de/dlf/01/high/aac/stream.aac

With the newest version, the stream doesn't play anylonger. I've downgraded to 1.99.16.19516 and it works again, so it's specific to this build!

It's a conflict between in_mp4 & in_mp3 with how the "aac" extension is detected which was missed when adding local aac file playback to in_mp4 (as part of the work to remove / replace the still re-used in_mp3 from the 5.666 installer) & it's incorrectly being attempted to be used to play streams with the .aac extension in their url.

With build 19994 until a fixed build is available (was reported at the weekend & already fixed internally), you can go to Preferences -> Plug-ins -> Input -> find the in_mp4 entry & open its config dialog & remove the ";AAC" part from the extension list, close the dialog & the stream should play it.

On Beta 1.99.21.20088 this problem persists. Streams are not working from https://scenestream.net/demovibes/streams/ but do work in VLC Media Player. Removing AAC from the in_mp4 entry didn't make a difference.

Also doesn't work with https://rainwave.cc/tune_in/5.mp3.m3u or https://rainwave.cc/tune_in/5.ogg.m3u

The problem wasn't fixed by downgrading to version 1.99.16.19516 (but I used the x64 version, and should try the x86 version).

The x64 build per the notes in every beta sub-forum build thread doesn't currently have support for MP3 nor AAC streams & is something I've still to implement (x86 can since the re-used in_mp3 dll provides that support for now but needs me to finish off some of my replacement for it so the x64 build can then have that streaming support).

I'm not in a position to try the other links as of this reply & maybe they're opus based streams which is something else I've got to implement. As a lot of opus & ogg vorbis streams have the .ogg extension which at the moment confuses trying to play them & is something planned for a later build to be resolved.

Sorry. Reading fail on my part. I previously knew this and then forgot and started downloading the x64 versions like a muppet.

Very glad to have the mp3 radio tunes playing from https://rainwave.cc/ now.
