Latest WACUP public preview for x86 & x64 is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)
Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Playlist subfolders
« on: August 16, 2024, 11:44:04 PM »
Hi,

I'm one of those few that need multiple instances of WACUP as a volunteer Ballpark DJ (Little League and Adult Co-Ed). I have a unique playlist for each scheduled game (pregame and inning interludes), each team's walk up songs, and of course an outro. I'll typically have 8 instances open - Home & Visitor Team Walk ups [2], the pregame songs [1], pregame hype [1], the game inning interludes [1], Outro [1], Misc Events [3] (Pitcher Change, Mound Conferences, and Field Injuries). Luckily, I discovered a sound board for the repeatable sounds/songs (home runs, foul balls, visitor strike out, home team hype, etc.) so that eliminated an instance and playlist dedicated to that.

One thing that would help immensely would be the ability to create playlist subfolders to organize my playlists. Depending on the season, I'll have anywhere from 6 to 13 unique team walk-up playlists. Currently, I have 18 pregame playlists, 33 game inning interludes (30 regular season, 2 play off, and one championship), plus two separate outro playlists (regular season and tournament). Not to mention special events like movie night preshow, and opening day/closing day events. Having subfolders to utilize would be extremely useful for organization. The current season wraps up at the end of this month. But it would be awesome to have this by March 2025 when Little League Spring 2025 kicks off. :)

I appreciate all the hard work you do. Happy to help if you need a beta tester. I'll send a separate request, but I understand juggling priorities. Been part of the open source scene since 2006 IIRC, so I completely understand coordination, time constraints of volunteers and all the joys of having a life outside of the hobby.

Thanks again for keeping WinAmp alive via WACUP!

Cheers,

dro

1.99.20.19994 added support to assign library playlists to groups as long as the option to show the playlists as child nodes in the navigation tree is enabled (if its turned off its still possible to change the group applied but it's not going to be used in that state).
