Latest WACUP public preview for x86 & x64 is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)
Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

General Discussion / Re: Do you ever use the mute button?
« on: June 30, 2023, 10:11:07 AM »
I don't think I have ever used it. But it's also not bothering me.
Personally I use the dedicated mute button on my keyboard (that mutes everything, not just wacup) and personally I don't have any scenario where I would want to mute wacup specifically while keeping the song playing. But maybe someone does

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Re: Album Art plugin - show other filenames
« on: November 01, 2019, 12:15:11 AM »
There are options in the WACUP Preferences (Options command on the main context menu) on the General - Album Art - Reading tab for selecting which images are shown.

Did more experimenting with this, having the gen_classicart plugin disabled.
The options are there, right what I want, right in the order that makes sense. BUT...
The last option, the one I want and that was the reason for starting this thread, just does not seem to work.
So it is
%filename%.<supported_file_format> in the containing folder

Which means "Any supported image with any filename" I assume, but it's not showing. As soon as I change the filename to "front", "cover" etc. it shows up, so it's not that the specific images were just unsupported because format, corruption size or anything like that...

I'm not talking about tagging the files though. That's not really viable for large libraries.
I don't think that is relevant to my original post really...

no, this is not a good idea e.g. I have many images in such folder

Well, as I was saying, it would still make sense to prioritize anything that's named "cover", "folder", "AlbumArt" or "<album's name>" but if there are none of those, ONLY THEN show just whatever image filename is available. I'd only assume that in 90% of cases those would be album cover art images anyway. Just different filename

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Album Art plugin - show other filenames
« on: October 29, 2019, 12:15:17 AM »
So I noticed that the Album Art window (gen_classicart plugin) does not always show the artwork, even I have it available in the album's folder.
So after some experiments I deducted that it only shows either the art that's embedded in mp3 file, or it will show the image that's in the folder named "cover", "folder", "AlbumArt" or "<album's name>".
But if there is no embedded image or no image file named as mentioned above, it will show a blank window. Even if there's an album art image in the folder, just named something else.

It would be nice to have an option for it to show an image form the folder with any other filename if those default ones are not available.
It would still make sense to prioritize, firstly the embedded art, secondly those specific filenames but if those are not available fall back on showing any image file that's available.

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Re: Jump to File "Enqueue"

The Alt+Q combination will also work

Awesome! I like that much better than Shift+Enter, thanks for the info!

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Re: Playlist context menu editing

Well, my only wish was actually to move "Explore item folder" to the bottom because I kept pressing Exclude from playlist instead of that. But I ended up just disbling the exclude plugin as I'm not using it.

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Jump to File "Enqueue"

Just a small thing to add to the wishlist:
I really love how you can press Q on any song in the playlist and it will enqueue it for playing, I use that a lot.
I also really love the Jump to File dialog but for some reason the shortcut combination from there is Shift+Enter.

To me it would make sense if it was Q from Jump to File dialog too. Is there any reasoning of why it is different?

Here is the exact file.

P.S. You are doing a really awesome work here. Winamp has always been my desktop music player of choice, And it was exciting to stumble upon WACUP in March this year.

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Playlist context menu editing

Is there a way of editing (adding, removing, and moving up/down of items of the right click context menu in the playlist view?
If there isn't that would be a neat feature.

Resolved Issues / Crash on loading files
« on: September 25, 2019, 05:17:24 AM »
I had to go back to Preview_v1.0.5.4130 version as none of the more recent builds after that can load my music directory into playlist without crashing.

I tried doing fresh installs of v1.0.6.4220 and also the latest v1.0.7.4264, both had the same behaviour. Back to v1.0.5 and it loads the directory just fine. It's a folder with multiple subdirs and roughly 5000 mp3s, so not too big.
Attaching the error report that was generated from 1.0.7 release.
