Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #20202 (September 28th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

WACUP Preview Build 1.9.20.17040 Annoyance
« on: January 30, 2024, 02:29:44 PM »
I have installed the current Public Preview Build 1.9.20.17040 and everything seems to be working just fine except when I pause playback the time indicator blinks.

Older versions of WACUP didn't do this and it is **EXTREMELY** annoying.  Any way to turn this "feature" off?  I couldn't find a setting for it.

Hmm, it should have been doing it with any older WACUP builds as that's what the winamp skins tend to do unless a skin has been specifically coded not to that behaviour (which is only possible if it's a winamp3 / modern style & in the current builds isn't possible to disable for classic / 2.x style skins).

If it's a classic / 2.x style skin then there's an option which is already present for the next preview build, for the other skin types then there's no simple toggle option to do it.

This reminds me that there is no way to please everyone.  :)

As an older user, I like the blinking when I pause playback. Sometimes I get called away for whatever reason and sometimes I pause playback and sometimes I don't. When I return, the blinking reminds me that I paused playback and the lack of sound doesn't mean the app has stopped working.

That's why you make it a configuration option.  You check a box -- Do you want blinking time? -- Yes / No.
People who want it, check Yes,  people who don't, check No.
Everybody is happy.

I'm using the "Good Ol' Winamp"  "colour" skin.  Don't know if that makes a difference.

So you're using either Winamp Modern or one of the Bento skins...
