I'm a new WACUP user, experiencing this as an annoyance as well. Using notepad, writing the path to my main music folder and saving it as an .m3u file, I have a shortcut to always updated playlist-format access to all my music with a double click. that's the way I've been doing it in winamp for ages.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: [BUG] Waveform Preview No Rendering in new build
« Last post by xy0 on Yesterday at 09:28:00 AM »
Reporting in to say that this and other playlist oddities were fixed via this investigative process:
in cmd, running "net use" and noticing that the drives that didn't work were mapped to ad\share_name (using my home active directory namespace)
and the ones that worked were mapped to fileServer\share_name
so I changed the mapping my my "media" drive to match fileServer\media_folder

and things work brilliantly. Also the indexing speed is amazing now, so kudos! <3

Hi all,

First and foremost, I would to to apologize for this "act of necromancy" (LOL - too much D&D lately), but haven't seen any related/duplicate topic more recent on this.

Now, I know that since when this was initially discussed a lot of thing have happened, and certainly I am aware that other features are top priority, nonetheless I wanted to touch base on this just in case any additional feedback/update can be shared.

Are there any plans, no matter how low priority they could be, to add support for additional tags (ID3, Vorbis Comments) on Smart Views?

Thank in advance, and once again, apologies for reviving this very old thread.

Regards.

Hi there,

First of all, thank you so much for this app. I've been looking for a long time for something like this, and to learn that not only it existed but it's also winamp based of all things, made my day.

When I switch songs, the next song takes a while to load, which is totally understandable, since its downloading with yt-dlp. I tried switching off the 1080p checkbox to try and make it load faster, but this caused a few issues like audio skipping.

I'd like to ask a feature to, when loading a yt playlist for the first time, just downloading everything. Would that be possible?

Thank you!

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Problem with ATF (Advanced Title Formatting)
« Last post by Sibuna on March 03, 2026, 11:39:41 AM »
Just wanted to chime in that I also have this issue. It used to happen occasionally but now it seems to be happening quite frequently.

i'm currently on 1.99.47.23960 Public. But it has happened on the Jan builds as well as earlier ones. Closing and relaunching seems to fix it for a bit and then it will show up again. the ATF settings have always been the default for me. Playing standard FLAC/MP3 files that are local, Large playlist, ~32000 entries

Hi Dro,

Although I get this crash warning box when I load the program, it seems to be working fine. I use your program every day will let you know how I get on in the week.

Just a note I am using a 4k monitor.

Thanks for fixing the file name when saving the playlist.

Regards Colin

Visualisations / Re: Trying to compare AVS versions: visbot archive seems messed up

I don't know as that'd involve having to look at source code that I don't like looking at nor do I remember how well AVS followed the settings location api that winamp 2.9x introduced (via the IPC_GET* SendMessage stuff). I think it does but there's no guarantee if you're using external solutions that they properly implement the support for it. If you're not using wacup for avs then you really need to be trying to ask those providing the host implementation that you're having issues with as me guessing isn't helpful for either of us.

grandchild found a possible reason for an UI issue which makes the fullscreen settings not remember the previously selected video mode. Might it be a kind of API problem? I tested it only with 3rd party hosts, grandchild said he can't reproduce it with an original Winamp.
