Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #18980 (April 24th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #18980 (April 24th 2024) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: No Font with MMD3 skin in latest build

Can you provide a copy of the MMD3 skin that you're using please. As there's so many different copies of that skin out there it could be something specific to one revision especially as MMD3 is one of the ones I often use to double-check that gen_ff under wacup is behaving.

Preview Build Discussion / No Font with MMD3 skin in latest build
« Last post by AeonicB on Today at 04:13:37 PM »
So I updated WACUP to the latest public preview last night.  Left my skin as is, MMD3, before the update.

Came back to a buggy looking UI with no text displayed in the Media Library window, and Right Click context menus too thin to read or work with.

It was unstable, so I had to force quit it through Task Manager.

Backed up my settings, uninstalled, and reinstalled this morning.  Replaced my preferences, didn't replace my skin folder.

It was working with the default Big Bento Modern skin, so I tried reinstalling MMD3 again.

No text in the Media Library window, too thin text in right click menus, instability returned.

Attempting to return to return it to Big Ben Modern by accessing preferences through Ctrl + P shortcut and reloading it now gives no text and unusable menus.

Removing MMD3 restored Media Library text and Menu functionality.

For extra fun, I installed two other skins with a non-default appearance-- Peanut, and HM1 Touch.

Both worked out of the box.

Of note, this WACUP build didn't automatically associate WAL files with it after my reinstall, a problem I fixed by select WACUP as my option for opening *.WAL files.

Also, whenever I tried installing a skin, WACUP would warn me that the skin install was stopped midway through, and let me try and continue loading it.  MMD3 didn't work, Peanut and HM1 Touch did.

Regardless, reporting this as a WACUP problem as MMD3 was working fine before the latest Public build.

Attached are files showing Big Bento and its menu after attempting to load MMD3, MMD3 after its reinstall and first time loading the skin, along with its menu, the skin install error, and HM1 Touch.

It already has native scrobbling support (preferences -> playback -> last.fm scrobbler) with it also able to update the now playing part on the last.fm site though I never looked at the love support so am not sure if that'd fit in with how I'm doing things or not or whether it's something their api provides access to doing.

Would be nice if wacup can have native last.fm scrobbler + love button to add track to "loved tracks" on last.fm

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Bug when switching skins in Preview v1.99.11.18916

Sorry Darkhell, I'm not able to replicate your Bento skin switching issue. I can confirm that clicking the "Set skins directory..." button does nothing.

I can also confirm that the initial issue reported by wbpayne and MarkRH (which was also happening for me in the previous beta builds when switching to the base skin) is fixed in beta build #18980.

There'll be a fixed build in the day or so. The problem has existed for a couple of years in my code & despite it not having been changed for the new build (haven't gone back & checked other recent beta builds) it seems to be manifesting in a more consistent manner if going to the base skin is involved as part of the chain of switching attempts.

Hello, fisrt of all thanks for your great work.

Related to the skin problem i'm suffering something similar (i guess  :-\), in my case it only happen with Bento skin, if i change to any skin and try to go back to Bento using the skin list from right click menu it just switch to classic skin, the only way to go to bento again is opening preferences window and select bento on the skin section.

Another thing that i noticed is that i can't change the skin directory, the "Set skins directory..." button doesn't do anything, is not grayed out, it just do nothing when is pressed, tried runing wacup as admin just in case but the problem persist.

Thanks again for all your work, have a nice day

How do I control the foreground and background colors used by the Waveform Seeker plug-in when used with classic and modern skins?

The skin is working correctly for one from 1999 which pre-dates the classic skin additions that Winamp 2.9x introduced in 2003.

If you get a copy of the Skinner's Atlas then the gen.bmp & genex.bmp from it are the files that would need to be added into the old skin along with reading the txt file in the wsz (it's just a zip file so there's nothing special about it) or there's an online copy at https://github.com/WACUP/Winamp-Skinning-Archive/tree/master/Classic%20Skins/Skinners%20Atlas to read through.

There should be enough from the old skin to be able cobble something together to create those 2 files & then you can add them into the existing zip file or leave it as a pre-extracted folder within the Skins folder.

Skins / Convert / Update old skin?
« Last post by DrNoD on April 23, 2024, 11:01:55 PM »
I just discovered that this player is existing. I was using Winamp since the beginnung.

I also used a skin called "Sonicated".
https://kickbutts.tripod.com/winamp.htm

Unfortunately it is not fully working with this new version. For exampe Album art has no skin.

Is there a way to convert this old skin (zip file with some BMP files) into a new one and add for example the new Album Art window?
