Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #20088 (September 12th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #20088 (September 12th 2024) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Selection inaccuracies

Looks like you're running Linux, some details about your setup would be appreciated as well

"It will be supported when WACUP is out of Preview."
Right now it's more than likely not supported, though if you know your way around the registry, you can more than likely add this yourself, that said however, you're on your own with it and I wouldn't recommend doing this if you don't know your way around the registry.

Wishlist / Feature Requests / Re: a internal downloader

One could argue the YouTube feature in WACUP could also count as stealing, since the yt-dlp component downloads the video and plays it back (or only the audio if so desired) through WACUP (and from there you can then just rip the whole thing with the Nullsoft Disk Writer plugin).
IMO it's a grey area.
Frankly if you really want to support the artist, then the best way of doing it is by buying their CDs/digital copies.

Build 19762 is not yet out as a preview build, header in the forum also indicates as such

6
The local library was (and probably still is) high priority to get working right, plus there's only one man working on WACUP.

7
Do not ever post crash reports here as they contain personally identifiable information, they are almost always autosubmitted, if not you should pm them to dro

Can you tell us how you solved it, in case anyone else who encounters the issue knows how to fix it for themselves?

We're gonna need screenshots of what you mean, I still can't follow you what exactly you're talking about.

Can you specify what you mean by this?

3- An easy way to re-start a track at 0:00 when playing a track, especially difficult (with the mouse) when it play the first seconds of the track. One way could be the possibility to configure the "Previous Track" button (which I never use) as "start the track at the beginning.

..
Just click the play button again to restart a track.

I think it's a very reasonable request, since mobile players (and maybe desktop players too...?) tend to allow you pressing the previous button to restart a song (after 5 seconds have passed or so), and with the Winamp style keyboard shortcuts (z, x, c, v, b), it'd only be fitting

Implemented Requests / Re: Discord RPC Plugin [rich presence]

The plugin is most likely being blocked because the Discord RPC support already exists

Preview Build Discussion / Re: Can't Play aac or wma Files
« on: May 18, 2024, 11:35:15 AM »
Can you provide some info on what the AAC file contains (codec and the like)?
As for WMA, you'll have to manually enter the WMA file extension into the DirectShow plugin, since there's no longer a dedicated plugin that handles WMA/WMV.

General Discussion / Re: Winamp source code to be released
« on: May 17, 2024, 03:23:01 PM »
And if you read carefully, no mention of Open Source anywhere :-)

There's also a PDF of a press release that, more or less says the same.

https://www.llama-group.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/2024-05-16-open-source-en.pdf

It can be argued that their wording implies it'll be open source, though it's not mentioned under what license it'll operate (is it GPL? BSD? MIT? WTFPL? No one knows!) or that it'll be found in a git repository either on Github or some hosted instance.

If there's anything any one of us should've learned from previous announcements, they'll either not hold their own deadline, or they do follow through and it's behind closed doors with you being required to sign up. It's noteworthy that they fired most of the people working for them, so they might as well get people to do the work for free.

TL;DR: Don't get your hopes up.

It more than likely won't be released in the manner you (or anyone) would expect
