Latest WACUP public preview for x86 & x64 is build #21640 (May 11th 2025) (x86 & x64 changelogs)
Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #21640 (May 11th 2025) (x86 & x64 changelogs)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

What happens if you try using the x86 build? That can be done with a portable test install.

I suspect you're one of the ones that is having glitching issues with the x64 build which doesn't seem to happen for most or with the x86 build despite it using the same plug-in from me (not so direct) & is something I've still to replicate myself - most likely I've got something being done wrong which is ok with the code when compiled for x86 but not for x64.

3
What wacup build & build type (x86 or x64) & what output plug-in are you using (the selected one from the dropdown on preferences -> plug-ins -> output) ?

4
Then it likely wasn't the playlist & was something else maybe an old 3rd party input plug-in or another type but as you reinstalled that's basically going to have removed whatever was doing it so hopefully it's not a common thing that's causing it to hang on loading as happened for you as there's nothing to triage further now it's working.

That's a modern skin. I'll see if I can workaround the plug-in but I don't think there'll be a quick fix for it soon.

7
Go into the settings folder (usually %appdata%\wacup) & rename the winamp.m3u8 playlist file & if present the winamp.m3u before trying to load again. If that works then compress those file(s) into a zip & send me a pm on here with it as an attachment. Then try dragging or loading the renamed winamp.m3u8 file back into wacup to see if that still fails or not - if it does just repeat the above step. I've got to suspect there's some type of funky playlist entry that's causing issues on parsing such as from a vgm related format until I've got the file & am in a position to be able to look into things (I've not looked at the video yet due to poor internet connection where I currently am so I might already have covered what's shown).

That plug-in can also be somewhat unstable in use.

9
What skin are you using? The modern skins not working correctly on starting minimised is known to happen for some & there's little I can do to resolve it without making my own plug-in to handle that type of skin.

I never managed to replicate this & as we're now onto build 21622 (as of this reply) which I know has been flagged to others I'm going to assume that this is no longer a problem now that the build is ok to update flag has been enabled again.

That was mentioned in the changelog notes iirc that it might require having to re-apply things depending on what bad state things had gotten into. Main thing is that its now working ok for you.

The scaling setting should be maintained but it's handled via the re-used gen_ff plug-in from the 5.666 installer & I don't know why that type of skin is having issues with keeping the scaling option when other modern skins work ok (I can replicate declassified not working properly). Also depending on what scaling option you're using with the declassified skin, the 2x or 3x classic skin implementation might work but that doesn't do fractional scaling nor does it help if using one of the other declassified based skins that isn't using the base skin images.

Auto update isn't currently enabled for the preview builds due to the main crash issue with 21136 & no one looking at the known issues for the build on how to resolve it. Where are you triggering the update attempt with 20202?

General Discussion / Re: Album Art

Preferences -> General -> Album Art -> Reading tab -> that shows the reading order of albumart from files (top to bottom). The local library view will show & if needed cache the albumart for the first item that's internally found as the first item of the album (it's not done in a determined order i.e. it could match on track 5 or track 2 or track 1, etc) which is then used for the album. There is some attempt to look at other items against the 'album' to find an appropriate image but as a defined fallback image has been specified in the albumart reading preferences then that image will always be used for any of the image look-ups being attempted if there's not a result.

General Discussion / Re: How to restore main windows to main screen?
« on: April 23, 2025, 04:11:45 PM »
If you're using the x64 build then as long as WACUP is the focused program then Windows key + shift + left/right arrows should be able to move the main window on to the monitor & then when you click on the main window the other windows should snap back around it. I can't get modern skins to follow that & if I ever manage to make my own modern skin engine plug-in then it's something I've got to try to code.

I've previously had things try to force windows that were off-screen back on to the main monitor & I got a load of crap for doing that & so removed any of that. Until I can come up with a solution that doesn't suck I'm not going to be having the windows try to go back on screen.

tl;dr: my code is crap & I don't have a solution that'll make you happy.
