Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #18916 (April 18th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #18916 (April 18th 2024) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

The Winamp INI File for Dummies
« on: December 16, 2021, 08:25:50 PM »
Hi dro,

I know you don't like that the "winamp.ini" file is used to store configuration settings that would best be saved elsewhere. I also know you and DJ Egg created the subject topic post for Winamp users and it was last updated in 2004.

I'm wondering if you have a WACUP related version on your ToDo List.

I'm not against it as a storage option as it's needed to ensuring portable installs. My issues with it nowadays are more when it comes to just storing loads of data in there vs the performance impact it has (somewhat why I've been trying to reduce my stuff to only save changes from their default value into it to keep the file smaller & config reading faster).

I don't have any plans at the moment to document things as I see it more of an implementation detail & as soon as it's documented it then becomes hard to change things without cluttering up the file or having to do more in the code with settings migrations, etc. If others want to make one I'm not going to stop them.
