Latest restricted WACUP beta release is build #18654 (March 24th 2024) (x86 & x64 changelogs) | Latest WACUP public preview is build #17040 (September 30th 2023) (x86 only)

NOTE: Beta testers are added in a limited & subjective manner as I can only support so many people as part of the beta test program to keep it useful for my needs.

Unless I think you're going to be helpful, not all requests will be accepted but might still be later on. Remember that beta testing is to help me & the limitations currently works for my needs for this project.

Vortex 1.04-rc2

I was so preoccupied with fixing the serious bugs that I did not notice that the notifier was one pixel narrower. Fixed in RC-2.

From a quick test it appears to work ok in normal usage but I've not tried everything (tested under WACUP).

First thing is that it's still saying 1.02 on the about part of the preferences that appears on first loading.

The second is that I'm finding it impossible to see a distinction between the selected & un-selected state of the radio buttons on the 'smooth skin' part of the skin preference. They do behave but the visual indication just isn't there (is first time I've had this skin in my install so studio.xnf shouldn't be an issue).

Changed to 1.04.

Fixed, though not very elegantly.

There is a similar bug in the Analyzer Style box in the Visualization part of the Preferences window but no matter how much I try, I cannot fix it. So I might leave it as it is. Also, the explanation texts do not fit in the Smooth Skin panel. I will check this latter issue on other machines before reducing text size and rewrapping the texts.

Vortex 1.04-rc4: replaced Smooth Skin toggle images to help non-technical users.

What remains is, correcting the bad grammar in the descriptions of desktop alpha and ticker scrolling and perhaps dropping the references to fast cpus. Will you help me in this, please? I am not a native speaker of English.

Please, post your suggestions in the  Help with two very short descriptions thread.

Since it seems I won't be able to fix this last issue, I have readded Deimos's 2006 bug report to the Known Issues page.
